Do they only aim movies at little kids? They're not remaking the series, just the movie, and let's be honest the movie sucked. Granted, no one can touch Sarah's performance as Buffy, but if you're going to compare the possibility of Heather as Buffy, compare her to Kristy Swanson, since she portrayed Buffy in the original, and quite frankly I think anyone could do a better job than Swanson. Give Heather a chance. You never know, she could surprise us all.

I'm a huge buffy fan...have been since the minute the series first started. While I can't see anyone else but Sarah Michelle Gellar playing the role of the butt kicking super hero...I have to say I'm kinda interested to see this. I think if its not viewed as being "THE BUFFY" then it might be kinda fun to see. Plus with all the special effects the original film lacked...it might be entertaining. With that said...I still love the original cast of the series.
And lastly, why does the main character have to be named Buffy. OK, I know she´s the most famos slayer and it would be wierd to have a Buffy movie without Buffy, but it would wierd for me to have Buffy or Willow or Xander or anyone else, that are not played by their original actors. Buffy = SMG, which is fine too, according to cannon there have been 1,800 (I think thats the right number) slayers, so no reason to have Buffy Summers as the main char.
I actually think it´s not that much of a bad idea to shoot this remake, the movie itself MAY actually be entertaining though of course it will never mach the epicness of the TV show, but more importantly it would finally stir Buffyverse, aside from comics, there hasn´t been that much new stuff, so this movie may result revive of the series with new movies after this one, and hopefully Joss Whedon, if not any of the original cast, will be the writer/director. The original film was just as good and had none of them in, plus anthony head is leaving merlin to be apart of it so it wont be a total lose to lose air head gellar. Hoping we wont lose Alison though because no-one else could play the sexy ginger lesbian wiccan. Kirsty was a much better buffy and the only reason the series was better was because of the scooby's.
Anthony Head isn't leaving Merlin to be apart of this movie. He's been quoted on how he thinks this movie is a terrible idea. Also, he is doing a new show here called Free Agents. Free Agents was a british show that he stared in that is being adapted for American television and he is reprising his role. Alyson also probably won't be involved because the character of Willow didn't exist in the original movie and they do not have the rights to use the characters from the show.
The original film was brilliant. Kirsty was a much better buffy than air-head Gellar. Not denying it will be a shame for it to not be her but she would never have been a success with out the scooby's. Plus we are not loosing Anthony Head and I'm praying we will have Alison back.

I kinda want to see this but i have already seen the original buffy movie which i didnt care that much for probably cause I saw the series first and if its a movie there making will it be a total redo of the first one or a sequal of some sorts I dont find the whole Idea appealing but I do want to see heather staring in a role other than a dumb blonde.

They're not remaking the series, just the movie, and let's be honest the movie sucked. Granted, no one can touch Sarah's performance as Buffy, but if you're going to compare the possibility of Heather as Buffy, compare her to Kristy Swanson, since she portrayed Buffy in the original, and quite frankly I think anyone could do a better job than Swanson. Give Heather a chance. You never know, she could surprise us all.

I'm a huge buffy fan...have been since the minute the series first started. While I can't see anyone else but Sarah Michelle Gellar playing the role of the butt kicking super hero...I have to say I'm kinda interested to see this. I think if its not viewed as being "THE BUFFY" then it might be kinda fun to see. Plus with all the special effects the original film lacked...it might be entertaining. With that said...I still love the original cast of the series.

And lastly, why does the main character have to be named Buffy. OK, I know she´s the most famos slayer and it would be wierd to have a Buffy movie without Buffy, but it would wierd for me to have Buffy or Willow or Xander or anyone else, that are not played by their original actors. Buffy = SMG, which is fine too, according to cannon there have been 1,800 (I think thats the right number) slayers, so no reason to have Buffy Summers as the main char.

I actually think it´s not that much of a bad idea to shoot this remake, the movie itself MAY actually be entertaining though of course it will never mach the epicness of the TV show, but more importantly it would finally stir Buffyverse, aside from comics, there hasn´t been that much new stuff, so this movie may result revive of the series with new movies after this one, and hopefully Joss Whedon, if not any of the original cast, will be the writer/director. But, Heather Morris, not sure...

Anthony Head isn't leaving Merlin to be apart of this movie. He's been quoted on how he thinks this movie is a terrible idea. Also, he is doing a new show here called Free Agents. Free Agents was a british show that he stared in that is being adapted for American television and he is reprising his role. Alyson also probably won't be involved because the character of Willow didn't exist in the original movie and they do not have the rights to use the characters from the show.
