D&B is born out of Jungle. Jungle got a bit too ghetto for 'da man' - so a splinter group branched off into 'intlligent D&B' in an effort to denounce the bad name that jungle had earned for itself. D&B beats were simplified - by comparison - and a lot more was made of the space available in the mix. Doesn't really matter - but that's how it is.

jungle came out in the late 80's erly 90's also known as jungle techno and was the sound of dj's like RATPACK , TOPBUZZ,RAGGA TWINS ETC.and used more of a reggae sound.in the mid 90's came DNB with more of a base line and less vocal.there is a difference but not a lot DNB is more up to date form of jungle :)

DnB and Jungle both share the same roots, DnB was a name given to the music produced by artists that wanted to drop the ragga/reggae style vocals and samples as Jungle was gettin a bad rep due to some of the lyrics used. Jungle also typically contains the melody in the drum patterns and has numerous amen breaks(the amen break is a staple in Jungle music) where as D'n'B generally has the melody in the bassline. Yes there are cross-overs and tunes that are hard to classify.
