  • hey i got a 95 chevy 1 ton dually with a 454 in it, ive got a true dual 2 1/2 exhaust on it with 24" glasspacks, and the air cleaner flipped for a tiny bit more air , i heard stock it pushes 255 hp and 405 tq how much to do you think the exhaust system ups those number's? let me know thanks

  • How much would it cost to build something like this from a bare block? Cause i wanna drop on in a stingray im lookin at, and two can the average guy do it?

  • check out my video. 1970 elcamino Go pro camera at the drags.

  • is it goin in that what appears to be corvette in the background?

  • That thing has been ran before you liar, you look like you just finished golfing lol.

  • as one piece yes, but if you buy the body, and then engine, it wont be that bad, but yeah, too bad he has the top rated comment

  • You can set timing and carb before startup...we all do it. After fire-up, we like to do our tune-up to get it right. You can't tune an engine without it running.

  • and there goes the cam poor thing

  • I can smell the burnt gas from here.

  • wont your cam have bad spots if you do this.. i thought you had to hold it at like 2500rpm to get the valve train worn in together..

  • @ccexped That type of break-in is only required for flat tappet cams. This motor was built with a retro-hydro roller so no specific break-in period is required.

  • correct me if im wrong but, gas can next to battery and electrical wiring... maybe not a good idea?

  • @queensplazasouth.......I agree with 71corvette, every engine Ive ever built started first crack & timing was perty darn close if not dead on. Good on ya, she sounds great!

  • engine not motor now thats day 1 stuff

  • Hey man I just wanna say to you and all these stupid fucks on here, You can set timing before you start an engine. I can do it, have done it and will do it and make a video of me doing it. Last time I did it was on my impala 350 swap and I was only 2 degrees off. So for all the people saying that he ran it before can suck my dick. I know the truth. Get your heads out of the books and get into real life and try it.

  • @NOLIMIT69NOLIMIT2000 Yep I agree with you!You tube is full of stupid opinionated fucks who have probably never built a chevy in their lives!Every chevy Ive ever built has fired up like this!I veryify true TDC with a Dial Gauage with the heads of,use a decent pointer(Tavia),then you can set the static timing precisely. These green horn dumbfucks know nothing!

  • can't wait to start workin on my 400 small block chevy!!!!!!

  • set it up with about 36 degree total, all in by 2000 rpm, thats a good compromise with 91 octane.Make sure you have full throttle when you install linkage,in car.happens a lot

  • I'm calling bs on "first start" as well, any good engine builder breaks in the cam for the first 20 minutes. Unless he has a retro roller or something. hmm. Regardless, it's a nice engine!

  • @xlelanolx The motor was rebuilt with a retro hydro roller with linked lifters. No 20 minute break-in period required.

  • SUBARU..............Here endeth the lesson

  • Sounds nice. Just wish I caould find someone around here to tune my vette that sweet. Timing and carb outta wack, 77 stingray with original 350 bored 40, voodoo cam. Sounds awesome but not putting out the power it should.

  • look in the yellow pages for a rollin dyno, tune up shop, speed center etc.,they can see what the motor is doing, most will set it up,well worth the investment

  • i dont care who u are u will never start a motor first time like that even this guys full of crap

  • bullshit, you had that running before. look how smooth it's running, timing, is perfect, etc.

  • @queensplazasouth I hate to burst your bubble but good engine builder knows how to set timing WITHOUT having the motor running (it's quite easy), and if you know how to tune and prime a carb that part is easy to get close to the final setting as well.

  • Comment removed

  • @71corvette got that right!

  • @71corvette You're right... It's called Static Timing and priming the fuel system. I've won lots of money on bets that I could start a complete fresh rebuilt engine on 3 turns or less.

  • @Countryboy830 Oh, you also have to prime the oil system especially when you have hydraulic llifters.

  • @ queensplazasouth. 71corvette is right. Any good engine builder can correctly set the timing without it running.

  • @queensplazasouth im with u thats bullshit

  • @queensplazasouth if you know how to build a motor you can set er up really good before hearin the son of a bitch.

  • Whatever car that goes into, it'll beat any import.

  • I think its going into that Vette in the background lol

  • pfff DUH!!! lol

  • @funkyspaceinvader see we dont have to use all that HP, and we could get a more than 4mpg. but when it comes to humiliating you in front of your friends. Full tank of gas $60, Price of gas after drag races $120, Humiliating a ricer who spends 10000 dollars on upgrades, and revs his weed wacker engine annoying all the girls....... PRICELESS!!! They should call it a wiener wacker engine cause, well yeah what girl would be caught dead in that fart can. I dont wanna see the ones that would

  • You know nothing about driving mate.

Building a big engine and flooring the throttle between redlights any 12 year old virgin can do...

    How dumb is that?

I like cars and engines. And I like pre-historical, gas guzzling, global warming american V8's.

But trust me on one thing though. Girls nowadays like European sportscars and guys with class. Not traffic light redneck sunday racers.

  • @funkyspaceinvader first of all, you are a bot, global warming is a scam, so is the new engines of these "emissions friendly vehicles". Gas guzzling they are, but if you look at my previous post you would have that issue answered. The redlight comment, there is a whole sport for this called drag racing. I never mentioned euro sports cars "mate" i said ricers, like the "civics" these kids race here. What girls, maybe the ones you know. Muscle cars are American not just redneck. go back to england

  • maybe where your from, but down here girls just like a truck with mud :)

  • @stc2008lt get your head out of your ass.. this is a 500+hp 454 a nice motor yes.. but any moron can tell you theres plenty of 1000+ hp imports out there.. i highly doubt ANY car this goes into could beat one.

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx but... you do know everyone, (ok almost everyone) watching this video will take that 71 Corvette over ANY import, is stc ignorant? maybe, but that corvette will cost a fraction of a DECENT 1000hp import, and still hold it's value, just saying

  • @YOUONLYLIVEONCE08 i dunno what research you've done but any DECENT 71 corvette with a 454 is gonna cost a lot more than its gonna cost you to take a honda civic hatchback do an engine swap and throw a couple turbos on it.. that puts both cars upwards of 500hp and the civic is gonna have the weight advantage every time. Im not arguing, id rather have the domestic muscle. i personally have an 83 chevy pickup with a dollar or two spent on the motor. i just wanted this guy to think before he talks

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx so if you throw a couple of turbos on a honda civic how the hell do you expect them to even spool a 1.6l is going to have trouble spooling any decent size turbo without a a decent amount of lag

  • @SuBN01z3RaT i've had 2 friends put a twin turbo setup on a civic.. one a coupe one a hatchback and both of them were pulling mid to low 11's all day ON STREET TIRES.. so once again.. i dont know what research you've done, but its 100% possible and it works quite well actually.

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx what did they throw on 2 dsm turbos? only turbo thats small enough that i could see it spooling 2 of

  • @SuBN01z3RaT ive seen honda civics pushing 500hp on motor alone.. thats plenty of power and back pressure to spool any turbo.. like i said to the other guy, get your head out of your ass

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx i seriously doubt any street civic is making 500 na hp and i doubt the heads would accept that much work to them to get a 1.6l to 500 hp without some sort of power adder so i think you are the one who needs to get your head out of your ass

  • @SuBN01z3RaT you can doubt all you want.. ive seen it done and ive seen the turbos done multiple times.. if you're willing to throw the money at it you can do pretty much anything you want

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx only way i can imagine it working is the exhaust from 1 turbo dumping into the other like they do for diesels i dont see 2 cylinders spooling any decent size turbo

  • @SuBN01z3RaT they dont need to push that much boost. 9psi a piece is enough to put up numbers..

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx i still think it would be easier to just run 1 bigger turbo then fabbing up twins for a 4 cylinder i dont see twins helping with boost lag being there not sequential

  • @SuBN01z3RaT i think you're missing the point.. 1 turbo or 4 turbos.. all i was saying at the beginning is that there's plenty of non American non 454 vehicles on the street that could eat this motor for lunch every day of the week.

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx

in the end its still a civic

  • @VOAOURKZ a civic a supra a lancer a jetta, i dont care.. the point is still being missed.. you kids have some seriously blurred vision

  • @xxxxclutchxxxx

a civic? a supra? thats a big jump there sir

point is this will beat imports, even the ones that are a little built

but the ones are the insanely built, now theres probably gonna be a problem there

  • @stc2008lt def wont beat every import u fuk up

  • @stc2008lt Not if he puts it in a import :P

  • Rice burner.........thats funny....

  • is taht engine 4 a chevelle?

  • NICE

  • i looks like its almost ready to drop in the covette

  • thats badass man!

  • This dud is trying to look like he knows shit...

  • It'd not good enough? As far as this video is concerned, it's more than enough.

  • Ok I just realised I haven't visited your page in alonggg time lol.

  • Heh a 120hp Honda or a 500bhp turbo Honda? Big difference but I've been watching this engine build forever and I was excited to see a video of it starting up. Man I was pissed about the AFR head problems and I don't even own the thing. Keep it coming man. Your Vette is gonna rock.

  • Sounds like the starter is still engaged.

  • my brother traded his camaro project car for this motor and gave it to me, dumb trade though

  • that will be kool if u can put it in a honda civic 93'

  • are you a fuckin retard? putting an a american muscle car engine in a rice burner...wow it takes all kinds doesnt it....there must be and idiot born every second

  • when i give my el camino motor gas the vaccum goes down but i think that is because it is cammed out. and i figured that i was the only one with a vaccum gauge.

  • this is V demn 8

  • I'd love to see a Honda try to race the beast that engine gets stuffed into...

  • I think were tired of seeying hodas getting their asses kicked! hahaha

  • Nice motor!
