You know, this isn't a horrible setup. It's different to say the least, but speed is more of a factor here than it was at any other time in the front game. I like it.
I remember the show for a few episode they runners wore shirts like there partners but then they swicted to the start of the power suits and if they go into the maze they get in full gear. Mario Lopez did the samething with the start of the power suits and full gear if they make the maze. I really did not like new changes when Mario became host.
On some websites, it said that the Pilot Episode had the following people as contestants: Scott/Ari vs. Krystal/Kirk vs. Oliver/Benjamin. That was a mistake. Some people are correcting it.
I think there were about 3 or so episodes with this scoring format. Also in the earlier episodes the runners wore the blue t-shirts that said Masters of the Maze on them instead of their power suits.
As for pilots, one source plugging the show's premiere referred to the show as TimeBomb, where contestants had to defuse a multi-level time bomb. I wonder if Kline & Friends ever taped any pilots under this name.
@rjaguar3 I kinda remember something about the Time Bomb name, but it was just vague to me because it was only one time I've heard of it. That's why I was unsure if this was the pilot or premiere. Thanks for pointing that out.
Plus, my pleasure putting this up. It was highly requested for some time, but I had misplaced the tape. Glad I finally found it!
I don't believe this is the pilot. Premiere, possibly. To be honest, I distinctly remember them having this scoring format on multiple episodes that Family Channel would show on Saturday mornings.
5:59 Some one got some extra points as brandon has a score error of 8 points to show 50! Then it jumped back down to 42 the correct score at the start of the next puzzle.

@BartJS300 The shirts were worn during the picture round.

Thanks for uploading this. Kline & Friends is a very underrated (and by some underappreciated) production company.

I like how this is a much clearer quality than your earlier MotM posts :)
And yeah, this is a rather unusual scoring format.

6:05 Repeat after me... "Can you be more specific?" Quite sloppy.
