How do you get this to work? I have a radio that picks up weather stations and WXtoIMG software will the stock antenna be good enough? also my radio has out of phase audio on the headphone jack to simulate stereo will this affect the images?
My radio is an eclipse wind up radio and it has a weather band and there are stations that I can pick up that have some type of data signal playing. I can get a clean signal but the problem with my radio is the headphone jack outputs simulated stereo sound. one of the channels is reversed phase. will this affect my ability to receive and decode these signals? and will the stock antenna be good enough? I'll post a vid of some audio.
what kind of wire did you use at the top. i used a flat tin plate into the shape of a "V" and got half the signal you did. i gotten a clear audio but not clear enough to get a clear image.
Hello well the antenna that I use is a quadrifilar helicoidal antenna which is home made.
You can get the details off the net on how to make one.
It took me a few hours to construct just out of thick electrical wire and some pvc piping.
You can also use a few 2m VHF ham band antennas that will also give you a good enough signal but playing around with different antennaa over the years I will say the quadrifilar helicoidal is the best!!
Did you ever have trouble setting the audio levels before it started decoding? I have a slightly cruder setup (WEFAX, POCSAG and others) and I'm having a heck of time getting anything to decode. My line-in audio seems fine to me.
can you show me how to set up free WXtoImg i am using a ft 7900 to my pc how do i decode APT thanks

@coondogtheman1234 You will need a FM receiver on 137 Mhz where the satellite operate and also a good outside antenna tuned to that frequency.

Congratulations on video.
Could you send me the antenna design QHF - qudrifilar or where you could not.
You did the power cord. What type of wire used? diameter? measures? diameter of main pipe? ballun? and other data.
I have a weather station, I have installed a radio ICON IC-R2500 and I also want to download images as you did. I need the project can send me.
Thank you.

Most of the time when you cant decode its because of the audio to high or to low.
Also I found some sound cards just dont work or other Audio software on the computer interferes.
Usually the audio software from Windows is good enough.
Also try another sound card instead of the onboard!

Hi thanks,
I'm using the ICOM PCR-100 reciever which is controlled with a small palm PDA.
Audio from the reciever is fed into my small ASUS Eee PC which decodes the signal.
I'm running WXtoimg software and a homemade quadrifilar helicoidal antenna.
