On the weightier matter of the role of VP, Matthews, in spite of his vitriolic ridicule, is the party in error. From Article I, Section 3 of the US Constitution:
"The VP of the US shall be PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided."
Indeed, it is Mr.s Biden and Matthews who stand in ignorance and it will be Biden who is derelict in duty for failing to meet with members of senate if he pursues his stated course to reduce the role of the office of VP.
There's only one other spot in Article I where VP is mentioned in and it states that if the VP is absent or executing the (executive) Office of President, at that time the Senate shall establish a President of the Senate pro tempore (for a time, temporarily). As for "supporting the policies of president" as Matthews put it, there is no such language and at one time, the VP used to be the second runner up in the election, so it's historically significant that the VP would NOT be so constrained.

On the weightier matter of the role of VP, Matthews, in spite of his vitriolic ridicule, is the party in error. From Article I, Section 3 of the US Constitution:
"The VP of the US shall be PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided."
Indeed, it is Mr.s Biden and Matthews who stand in ignorance and it will be Biden who is derelict in duty for failing to meet with members of senate if he pursues his stated course to reduce the role of the office of VP.

There's only one other spot in Article I where VP is mentioned in and it states that if the VP is absent or executing the (executive) Office of President, at that time the Senate shall establish a President of the Senate pro tempore (for a time, temporarily). As for "supporting the policies of president" as Matthews put it, there is no such language and at one time, the VP used to be the second runner up in the election, so it's historically significant that the VP would NOT be so constrained.

I'll go ahead and call it right now. On Wednesday if McCain loses and (newly convicted felon) Ted Stevens is re-elected to the Senate for Alaska, Stevens will step down and Palin will appoint herself to his seat.

Every time Palin speaks it becomes more obvious how unprepared she is; and what she doesnt know.
She STILL doesnt know what a VPs job is. Even 3rd graders know this. Aliens who want to become citizens know this. You would think the person applying for the JOB would know this. Running for VP is just that. Its APPLYING for the job. Palin has been asked 4 different times; and she still doesnt know what the duties are!

the VP has only two jobs in existance. 1: Tie breaker of the U.S. Senate. 2: Take over as acting president or as the president in case the person dies or is not capable of of the duties. If any VP attempts to conduct themselves any further then the U.S. Constitution has outlined is an impeachable offense of the office.
