  • i remember when i was a kid growing up in the marcy pj"s my 5th floor neighbor use to blast this tune

  • best of the best!

  • i always associate Ben E. King with The Sandlot and my childhood :)

  • Squints- About Time Benny. My Clothes Are Going Out Of Style.

    -They Already Are Squints.

    Squints- Shut Up!

  • listen to the emotion in this song...i wish music was like this again. without autotune and the same beat as the last song..everything sounds the same now.

  • @zappahart Well, not exactly; I've never confused Taylor Swift with Josh Groban.

  • This might be my favorite Drifters song, happy memories!! Love their songs!! Terrific group. Thank you for posting. 5*****

  • Sandlot ;)

  • at exactly 1 minute and 10 seconds into the song (there goes my baby) mr. king

starts to sing but stops then picks up again. in those days mistakes were hard to correct. jerry

  • @grobotham sometimes mistakes in songs don't need to be corrected-this song is fantastic anyway

  • Honestly I think if music today was done in the style of the 50's, 60', and even 70's there might be a little less violence in the world, this music just inspires peace and good feeling. Lol, and I didnt even come into this world till the last day of the 70's. Even I can tell how relaxing and fun this music is.

  • Epic ... inspirational ... classic '50s artistry. Takes me back to Carson Beach and the Sugar Bowl in South Boston in the early '60s.

  • im 14 and im one of the most popular kids in school. i listen to this music, love it, and AM NOT ASHAMED. i don't see why our generation can't see brilliant music if it was at the click of a button right infront of them

  • "Come on. I paid for it. - I wanna carry it.

    - Oh. Whoa! - Give it to me. - What's the matter? - Jeez.

    Wendy Peffercorn. Mmm.

    - Whoa! - Wow!"

  • i love classic songs like this, music now days don't talk about love they talk about sex, money and fame.

  • You learn to appreciate all kinds of music if you really understand that music changes throughout the years.

  • The other great sound of the Drifters growing up in Detroit in 50's and 60's

  • 1 dislike. I guess there went the fool's baby.

  • " Wow Wendy Pefercorn" The Sandlot epic

  • @alphablackman1 Wasn't that "This Magic Moment?"

  • I wish i lived in the late 50's and early 60's.. music was so great back then..

  • @TunakaZ -agree! i alwayz said if i can go bak in time i would start in the year of 1954 all the way to 1965...imma motown fan too!!! but DOOWOP IZ THE BEST!!!!

  • I saw them many times during the 1950's at The Apollo and Alan Freed's R N' ROLL

shows . I play guiatar and their music remains some of my very favorites to play .

The 1950's in NYC was a wonderful place to learn from the best .

  • This is the Original!

You rarely get Drifter stuff that is the Original recordings!

    Thanks!

  • This reminds me of the sandlot XD LOL SQUINTS! Wendy Peffercorn my darling lover girl (; hehe great song!

  • @burritol7 I remember the Sandlot scene with Wendy the lifeguard - but wasn't it another Drifters song ? ("This Magic Moment", iirc)

the movie did feature "There goes my Babe" too, but it was in antoher scene. can't recall which one though

  • @schwarzfalk this is when Squints sees her outside of the drugstore with yeah yeah. The other scene is when he kisses her at the pool when he pretends to drown (This magic moment)

  • @hammerofgod84 u sure this is the same chick ?? the one he sees outside the drug store looked quite different & younger too (though still quite older than him)

  • @schwarzfalk yeah dude, he even points to her and says her name. Then the narrator says her name at the pool. Obviously you have a bad memory or only saw that scene. I have the movie on DVD and seen it plenty of times.

  • @hammerofgod84 yeah ok w/e

but that 1st chick she still looks completely different from Wendy (check the movie trailer they show her for a few seconds)

  • seriously... im 19. i was born in 1990. this is WAY before my time. 30 years before my time... and im in love with this kind of music. there really isnt music like this anymore. but as long as theres youtube, its not lost. :D
