@discardmyfriends I would have to go ahead and disagree with you there. I think Nicole is rarely the problem, but tends to wind up in the picture after the glory days had already passed anyway.
This should have been big here in Australia! I feel fucking ripped off! It's as good as anything they did in the nineties. Kudos to Louise for continuing to kick serious rockin' arse. God I hate the music industry now.
@misspiaco Their falling out might have had to do with a guy that one of them (Louise) stole from the other. But not sure. Just heard that once was all.
The interviewers/announcers look like some american idol clone.... How come these days all these shows that show live music seem so freaking fake and overly produced. its almost like watching artificial crap. OF COURSE I AM NOT INCLUDING VERUCA SALT. Its just that the whole atmosphere is soooo freaking fake and cold. The only thing that seems to have a little life in it, is when this ho announcer is talking about 50shit and Gsuckballs. FU announcer girl!
Nina never sold out. In fact the kind of music she sings now is the kind of music she was always into. That"s what made VS so good, everyone had different tastes. Nina and drummer liked Madonna alot Lol, Whereas Louise liked more of those girl rock bands and harder rock/punk stuff.
This is the best lineup of the band I've seen yet. IV has some of their best songs on it. This performance wasn't my favorite, but whatevs, Louise is a goddess.
Nina has totally and I mean TOTALLY SOLD OUT !!! her "new" music is CRAPOLA !! At least Louise has stayed true to herself and what Veruca Salt is about.More power to Louise Post & crew.
Yeah, the thing is, I'm hardly Veruca Salt's biggest fan by any means, but it seems different without Nina. I've always thought when a key member, songwriting or the like leaves a band, it should start afresh with a new name, because it will never be the same. I mean the stuff they come up with might not be bad by any means, but people will have expectations of such and such. But that's my opinion, feel free to argue against it.
I don't know if they have or not, but I would hope that for the sake of music that Nina and Louise patch up their differences. I still remember seeing clips of them on MuchMusic being interviewed shopping at a store together, and they are talking about how they are the best of friends, and it makes me sad to think that one of the most amazing musical partnerships since Lennon/McCartney had to break up so acrimoniously. I fear an enmity exists between them of John Fogerty-like proportions.
Both Nina & Louise are living in L.A and according to Louise they have sorted out their differences and speak to each other. But she said she doesnt think that their relationship will ever be as close as it once was.
Their so much different...but not in a bad way, im getting into the newer veruca salt now....I guess its just that I was associated with the nina gordon veruca salt before these....oh well, their good just the same
but i thikn the sentence "You don't know me, You don't own me" is so similar to "With the lights out, it's less dangerous" in "Smell Likes Teen Spirit"
but i don't care, the whole son is unique and good!
Veruca Salt is stronger than ever! Being a musician in L.A., I've had the privilege of meeting the old band and the new. Louise is the humble sweetheart you see in this interview....Rock On Weezy! Lv U Sweetie!
What I always though was really cool, is that even though Veruca Salt are highly underappreciated, the majority of people who watch the performances are completely blown away. It's awesome.
louise was always my fav (and is SO COOL at the end of this video) but veruca salt withou nina is still weird... but not SO WEIRD. the fact that louise is still out there rocking our asses is just great.
This song and album is just as good as any previous work by VS. I'm so grateful Louise continues to rock in today's day and age where good music is hard to come by.
louise was usually lead guitar wasnt she. actually she was equal. i dont really like how she carried on the name, but good on her cos she rox and shes hot as

Blasphemy Tim550! Perhaps some of their music was better with Nina Gordon, but you have to hand it to Louise for still making quality Veruca Salt rock. What did Nina Gordon do? Oh, that's right, she had that one song that sounded like "Building a Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan and then sang about ponies and shit and now nobody cares about her.
