the fist time i drove stick was on my dads 1976 f150 with the 360 engine and i was gona shift on to 4th gear and i shifted on to 2nd but i pressed on the clutch really quick before it would fuck up
I drove my first manual in a gas truck today, HELL of alot different than in a diesel. Im so use to all the torque being down so low, I almost killed it twice
You're a very motivational instructor haha, sweet truck though! It's a lot easier to drive a diesel standard, things have so much torque they're hard to stall...
my first vehicle to learn stick was a 96 f350 powerstroke 7.3 5speed with over 400k miles. (my dads truck). 2 years ago. when the clutch starts going out it wont go in first gear so i have to start in second with more gas while slowly letting off the clutch.
@LeopardGeckoExpert F.O.R.D. fucked on race day, found on road dead, fukin oakies really dig'em, fix or repair daily, ford is shit, stop being a fanboy, cause if you wanna get techincal, fords were voted worst performing vehicles in 2005, but i gotta give it to'em the 2011 raptor was a decent success
Ford is a piece of shit you cocksucker, why you gotta diss chevy which owns your fuckin stupid roche mustangs because chevy currently has one of the fastest PRODUCTION cars which is the corvette zr1 @ 638 horsepower, you fucking redneck faggots.
@OldSchoolPkers lol, Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Bugatti, VW,BMW they all make "production" cars that stomp the zr1. so dont talk bullshit cause chevy and ford suck.
@OldSchoolPkers hell yea dude fuck fords, ive been sitting here trollin for last past 2 hours bitchin out all these ford fanboy cocksuckers, i hate to break it to them but technically ford performance wise is just a piece of shit.
@hamboneeddie Stock vs. stock, Ford wins every time on power and reliability. You can't blame Ford for the fact that there is a lot more technology and time designated by aftermarket companies to improve GM vehicles. That doesn't mean Ford is behind in Technology. In fact Ford has always been leading the way. That only proves that Ford is better from the factory than GM since Ford doesn't need as much aftermarket help to be good!!
@DTOMUSA74 are you mentally challenged? come to think about it you probably wouldnt be able to answer that. And by the way, im not gonna sit here and argue with a dumbass so ill say this politely with out any explicit or harmful words, but if you take your theory and complety flip it around, then youll turn the most retarded thing ive ever heard into a fact, kk:)
@hamboneeddie It's not an opinion it's a fact. You wouldn't know a thing about vehicles anyway. I've been retired from the auto industry for longer than you've been alive so I'm not about to let your failed comeback have any effect. Chevy has copied Fords vehicle line since their inception, it's a fact. I've seen it happen for the last 55 years and it will continue.
@DTOMUSA74 dude ford are the shittiest vehicles ever and youve been retired for so liong because your fukin retarded, just admit if youve been in the factory for so long you should know that fords are built shitty end of discussion and btw ur probably a 12y/o fanboy of ford
@hamboneeddie UH, are you really that dumb. Being retired means I no longer work in the field because I paid my dues for years and now enjoy retirement with my family. I was and still am a great mechanic unlike the kids who post on these vids. Being that I was a mechanic for years I know the ins and outs of all types of vehicles and can tell you first hand that Fords last the longest. In case you didn't notice, the truck in the video your talking about has 371k on it. SHitty huh?
@B4M409 im 15 and alot bigger then him dude. my legs are even bigger. i believe hes 15. kids these days are getting pretty big idk wtf there putting in the water these days but idk haha
I learned how to drive a stick shift in a piece of shit 1984 Toyota pick-up. It didn't have the shift pattern printed on the shifter knob and it didn't have an RPM gauge. That was kind of tough not knowing where any of the gears were and when to shift but after a while it's second nature and you don't need the diagram or the RPM gauge. My current car is a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL with an automatic (no manual offered). It's a fun car to drive but it'd be more fun if I could shift my own gears.
I think if I ever move up from automatic to manual (which I plan to in the next few months). I'm most likely going to switch gears by the sound of the engine. Rofl.
I never regret learning to drive standard transmission before I got into an automatic car. I'm driving a standard transmission BMW M5 right now and it's a fast car, better off for more experienced "stick handlers".
Hay today I drove my first manual, a 1980something ih s1900. We had to hotwire it to move it so icouldnt let it die! I was a little rough first takpff but it was smooth from their.
well i gotta say for first timers drivin a standard shift can be tricky ive grown up on automatics but back in 06 i went to trucking school and had to learn a 10 speed diesel boy was that a ride but once you get the hang of it everythings easy but almost every first timer either stalls it or skips a shift thats for sure i know i did haha
I think a diesel truck is actually a good vehicle to learn on. Lots of low end torque makes it harder to stall (unless you start off in the wrong gear!).
I drove a standard for the first time just a couple of weeks ago, on the Pontiac G5, and I didn't even stall it!
Now now, John, don't you talk shit about Chevy!! lol!
A few years ago, my dad had a 1979 Chevy 1 ton flatbed truck with a hydraulic dump for the flatbed. That thing had a 350 and a 4 speed stick - a low gear and 3 road gears. The clutch on that was shot - everytime you started out, the whole truck jumped up and down like crazy!
Yeah man, I love Chevy and Dodge, but sometimes it's fun to do some jokes about 'em, I did some Ford jokes in the other video :) It's so easy to make Ford jokes thougnt lol.
lol should get him to drive my truck it has a hurst shifter in it and its throws are less than an inch apart lol he got in 3rd there hed have it in 3rd on mine for sure lol
He did pretty good. Shoulda taught him on a big gas (say that out loud. big ass haha) engine like the 78. Start off and get too low of rev's and it will jerk back and forth. Jar the hell out of you lol. I learned to drive stick on a ford tractor
