just found out Ken use`s a warped cue like me, but he is also better haha. He is my snooker idol mainly because when I started snooker he was the only Irish pro snooker player.
The thing that struck me about this championship was how Doherty practically came from nowhere, beats Steve Davis with a session to spare, beats John Higgins, beats Alain Robidoux with a session to spare, and beats Stephen Hendry who looked unstoppable earlier in he tournement. A truely great performance.
@jonnyf147 thats such a funny comment bud, lol.I remember that night being glued to the tv set probably more nervous than doherty was.As you mentioned hes a gentleman as well.Am just picturing all the Dubling gangsters now going fuck heading out, this is more important. :D Great day for irish sport
I just remeber RTE jumping on the bandwagon to show the very last seesion. It's probably the only snooker they ever showed and I think most people still watched BBC anyway if they could.
did u know that when the final session of this match was aired in 1997 there was not one phone call or crime reported in the entire city of dublin, its true
Ken is 1 of the nicest blokes u will ever meet ,ive met him a few times and hes also my fav snooker player and people who are saying bad things about him obviousley dont know him!!!
in my opinion ronnie can't be described exactly;I mean, sometimes he says he played awful when he did an amazing job,and sometimes he remembers about his titles.I think he becomes arrogant 'cause he knows he'll always have fans to support him.let's be honest, when he has good days nobody can stop him!my opinion is that ronnie is a character in snooker;he does almost whatever he wants without thinking about the consequences.I like him 'cause he tries to entertain the audience and I appreciate that
Ken's one of my favourite players. I've only ever seen one match I didn't want him to win, and that was against Paul Hunter in the 2003 World Semi Final (where he won 17-16 after being 15-9 down). It's sad he hasn't won more titles, he's lost two Grand Prix finals, three UK finals, two Masters finals, and two World finals, and missed the final black on the 147 attempt. But this win overrides all of that, really.
I actually shook this guys hand in the crucible last year, got a picture with him too, he is a nice man, anyone going to the crucible this year? Got my tickets ready for April 28th, matthew stevens and mark williams, cant wait!!
Stephen Hendry is not arrogant. He is a very shy person, and has a lot of humility about his achievements. He is certainly not a conceited player

7 years old when it happened and aloud to stay up and watch it. Momentous occasion and a true Irish legend.
Seen him around Ranelagh and Rathmines a few times and ALWAYS happy to stop for a chat. True legend

hendry might just win an 8th this year.
meeting MarK williams, one hell of a player in round 1 might be a good thing after all.
He is forced to play at his peak immediately and at his peak, he sees off anyone, even Ronnie

anyone has an idea how much this irish gypsy gets paid by the bookies to lose frames and matches?

Doherty isn't a gypsy or a match-fixer! You are seriously out of order there.
