Well I just saw this video and I'm gonna start this Monday so I can go grocery shopping for this!! I've lost 26 pounds and have 30 more to go!! Excited about seeing the results after I start cutting out all of the junk!! Love the Ice Cream Alternative video by the way!!
When i would go to meets, i would have one pancake or oatmeal and no milk product. But since my events were in the afternoon i was only allowed to eat whole wheat bread with a spoonful of peanut butter an orange, and a small cup of water. Because when you eat too much before a race, your just asking for bloating, fatigue, and cramps.
I agree with you 100% that you feel better when you eat better!
I am also a former track sprinter and my all time 60m personal record came from a meet in H.S. when I ate pizza, nachos, and hot dogs that day- pr'ed in in prelims and finals. I always ate healthy prior to that day. Never ran so fast again, not even in college...so I can't relate to the apple before a race part lol!
@missdstdeuce im a freshman in college and I'm on my second semester, and I've been in that boat since track season stopped. Is it normal to gain weight at this time yet still be hungry. My aerobics instructor said it was because of the metabolism that I'm always hungry. (btw, I ran track for 7 years)
Wow i have been feeling sluggish and tired all of the time n it took me until this yr to realize that it's all the candy that I eat! It's like I have to have a 'desert' after every meal. I now realize that I have some type of sugar addiction n the funny thing is I don't even eat with wht sugar unless I combine it with brn sugar so my intake of it is less. I eat a healthy meal like chicken or fish with vegetables and go thru about a case of water a wk it's just this candy that gets me everytime!
Great challenge! Journal entries would enhance this challenge. I also create healthier versions of what I crave. For example, answers to my chocolate cravings:
Double-dipped banana: Dip banana in melted extra dark chocolate (mixed with drizzle of honey or agave necta) & nut/seed mix (chopped nuts mixed with chia seeds or flax seed meal).
Smoothie: frozen banana, fage yogurt (optional), almond milk, Trader Joe's dark chocolate hemp protein powder, flax seed meal & a little honey.
You're so right I've been on a lifestyle overhaul and I decided to cheat and have a skinless fried chicken breast, biscuits and mac n' cheese. If didn't digest well for me. So I went back to not eating junk food. Although I do like a piece of dark chocolate every now and then. Thanks for sharing!
I know I'm late but, I'm just discovering this. i definitely want to try it. I want to get back to a healthier me. The only problem is that I going on vacation in a few days. So, its gonna be hard for me to stay out of all of those Italian Bakeries and other yummy places ...lol. But, I think I will give it a try anyway.
I know it's way past the four weeks that you had the challenge up but Imma still do it. I just got bogged down with this crazy fever / cold. And ever since then my boyfriend has been nagging about my eating habits. So this video is very encouraging to me. I will leave you a video response at the end of MY four weeks and I will try to encourage others on my channel and blog to do the same.
help a sistah out....what's healthy?....omg...i've been eating unhealthy all my life...everything in the fridge is....."not suited"...lol I need some help big time
I am going to do this challenge! I have a youtube channel [wifeblog] so when I send you a video response, it will be coming from there. I wiegh 149 and have been trying to get to 140 forEVER! I already eat good mon-fri but the WEEKEND! I need to be more consistent Fri-Sun... I need more consistency. I already know that. SO.... see you in 4 weeks!
Such a good vid. and SO TRUE. I've done this and found on day 7, I started NOT wanting a lot of junk. My body just didn't want it. You are right on with this strategy.
This is actually my weight loss regimen. I unofficially do weight watchers with minor adjustments based on what I know my body needs. And I have a day where I'm allowed to go nuts and eat icecream and junk, to a certain extent. And I'm losing about 1.5 a week on average:D 57 down, idk how much more to go.
having a cheat day also helps your metabolism rebound/ reset and potentially lose more fat if you are on a weight loss program. some people's metabolism slows when on a sustained program... even though you feel like crap its a nice way to send a reminder to your body too what is worth detoxing :)
it makes sense to eat clean throughout the week. having one cheat meal/snack a day is more damaging than i realized, because i've gained weight doin that crap. i'm goin back to my once per week thing.
I am sooo gonna do this....I know its August so I guess i can leave my results for September! Thanks I love your video on hair care and aspire to have your length some day!
Thanks for connecting us back to our bodies. I am looking forward to the challenge as I inspire to become a healthier me. I just love your videos. Blessings
Wow!!! So I discovered this channel yesterday & proceeded to watch a ridiculous number of ur videos and I just can't get over how sensible you are!! I mean at least your advice has really resonated with me, maybe because I have struggled with so many of the issues you have discussed (from getting the right personal balance with my natural hair to learning to have a sense of self worth & self-esteem). I really appreciate your comments and I wish u all the best!
Wow I was really trying to figure out how to eat after my fast...and this makes sense. I love my veggies, but I miss my meat. But I'm learning self discipline.
thank you sooooooo much...u r such an inspiration! i'm going to do this for 4 weeks! TY TY...u r sooooo beautiful and I simply love your hair! LOVE IT! :)
This video is very inspiring. I eat healthy but i crave what i shouldnt eat all the time. And i give in. I am naturally a slim person but i think its because i am lactose intolerant and greasy fatty or spicy foods make me feel like crap even though they taste good. So i have to do my best to stay away. When i do eat fried anything for more than 2 days in a row my digestive system is jacked up to where i dont want anything. I think i will try this challenge. Thanks the challenge.
OMG You are so infectious. I praise God for you and how He made you. Thank you for your earnest and soft style videos full of wisdom, advice, and just everything. Take care.
Ok. So I just saw this video so I'm gonna start tomorrow i guess technically today since it's 3am lol. This is just in time bc I just started back running again!! You are my favorite Youtuber!! Blessings to you!!
awesome perfect timing ! i just came back from overseas and i need to have a challenge :) this is sooo true and is a common guide for fitness and bodybuilding nutrition programs. i will be posting a video response for sure! thanks! im a new viewer and i will have give you a shoutout for my next vid! blessings, lina
Tell me, what are your thoughts on juice fasting? I just saw Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, and I am thinking about starting a juice fast for 10-15 days. Have you ever tried it?
@Nookiebell11 I saw that documentary last weekend and I'm sold! I'm going to try it next month for 10 days. I've been reading about his Reboot program and just other juice fasting sites as well..I plan on starting it on a Friday so I have the weekend to go through that 'withdrawl' tired rough time...
@Nookiebell11 I just watched that and it was sooo interesting. I think anything should be done in moderation. The cost of the juicing, depending on your location, may hurt the pockets, esp. if you are going organic. However, if it's something you really want and need, I think the universe will provide it for you. I was thinking of trying the juicing when my funds are better. In the mean time, I am doing the fit for life diet and I have lost about 11lbs in 4 weeks!
Lol at the apples. I know apples give you gas. I've definitely experienced that before. No bueno (especially not before anything you're nervous about. Lol
I love this! I am a former runner and have been getting back into shape after having babes. I had been giving myself 2 days of anything I want. At first I wasn't eating many bad things, however this past weekend upon awakening I lost my mind. After jogging 3.5 miles I went to a cafe with hubby and had a 3 egg omlette with an insane amount of cheese I ate 3/4 of it but thats only because I also had buttered grits n whole wheat toast slathered with butter and jam! 1 sane day off from now on!
What I find always helps is to be prepared. It's when I'm caught off guard by hunger that I end up at Starbucks with a piece of cake masquerading as "bread" in one hand and a sugared-up latte in the other.
@kuumba60 Lol, that is sooo true! When I leave the house I always try to leave with a bag of organic baby carrots or some almonds! A great snack food with many nutritional benefits. And it gives you a little of the sweetness that we look for when our bodies are saying sweets now!
Inspirational: started this challenge on the 15th. Feel better already (I'm a cake/ice cream addict). Only eating junk on Friday for the next mth. I love feeling cleansed inside.
I eat somewhat healthy but I know I can do better. I'm going to try this challenge and see how it goes. Now, I'm off to buy some more fruit & veggies!
Hey Sis~! I Am sooo Hype about this! I love this!I am on a weightloss journey and lose so much focus when Friday comes!LOL! So sad!But having this challenge will hopefully keep me afloat and feeling awesome! WHY CANT ALL THE STORES AND VENDORS JUST GET RID OF THE BAD STUFF TO MAKE IT EASY FOR US! SHUCKS!LOL Anywho, Thanx for sharing sis;-)
I have cronhs and have to really take the time and listen to my body, not that I always do but I pay for it when I don't and know it,lol. I've become an inbetween-er (flexitarian) not vegan but not total meat eater. Glad you put this video up because I was starting to slack off with running and eating right. Dude you are awesome!
OMG! I love this! You're such an inspiration! I've tried giving myself a challenge but i can nvr stick to it! Thank you for this! Now I have something to keep pushing for! I just started working out again, I've lost almost 10 lbs! I'm feeling too good about myself right now!!! :) This reminds me of my "No processed sugars" challenge, so this should be a breeze!!!
OMGeez.. I was watching the video and then realized it was MY comment lol, I can officially say I had my 15min of fame YAY!!! Definitely a good challenge. My body has already become more fresh rather than canned recently. I think I may push to eating more yogurt over cereal and foods with more grains (they are more filling) and things like that.
Hey ReniiNaturalistaDiva, one of my favs is "the unhealthy truth" by Robyn o brien. I have a review of it on my channel. I don't really read too many healthy lifestyle books, but decided to pick this one up and WOW was I happy! <3
I'm so in! i was just saying to a classmate of mine that when i used to run and eat healthy i felt great. but since being in school full time and being a full time singled mom my days of eating well and keeping cardio up went to the pooper! now i am tired all the time. on top of that i have put on weight on top of the muscles i use to have. i know they are still there i just gotta find them again. this challenge comes at a perfect time for me cause i'm going on vacation from school.
What happens if you eat an apple @ the wrong time? How will it ruin your track meet? I ran track in high school and I don't know the answer to this...lol
Lol, hey 123abcgagaga! Well, apples are a natural laxative... so mix a natural laxative with pre-race jitters... lol.... yeeaaaaah. Toilet-Central. LOL! Definitely stay away from the apples before a race... after you're done.. Go For It.. but before the race, it's like Kryptonite to Super Man, lol!!! My teamates and I used to always joke about that! Lolol... learned that one the hard way. <3 <3
@DearNaptural85 Oh yea!! I definitely remember those jitters! And you know what I MIGHT have eaten an apple a couple of times and become victim to that with no clue as to whythat happened! hahaha hilarious stuff!
excellent idea! i believe that so many of us have never had our bodies "clean" enough to know the difference of how that feels versus the "norm" of how we eat which often makes us sluggish, etc. i.e., sluggish = normal and we don't know that something else/better exists. also, as a long-term lifestyle change, the idea of not totally giving up "treats" but knowing that you can have them one day should help eliminate the drive to just "have it now" every time we think of them. thanks for sharing.
Hey chevelleflorida! No problem!! That's exactly it! Such a great way to FEEl the difference. And I definitely canNOT go without my treats, lol, but because I know how my body feels if I overindulge, I tend to not go there, really ever... unless it's like Thanksgiving or Christmas, or a holiday, or a Saturday... lol, jk! But yea, it definitely helps you control how you eat when you know exactly how you will feel afterwards! <3
@missmarisela2006 must be ur day 7! lol!No worries! If I overindulge I just make up for it the nxt day..lots of veggies/fruits to get back on track! Dont feel guilty about a slip up, its not healthy 2 associate treats w/ guilt, just say, "Mm, that was good, & totally worth all the salad Im going 2eat 2mrrow 2 balance it out." Thats y I like this 4wk challenge, u get 2eat what u want & it helps u learn how2 balance those treats that arent good for u into ur lifestyle @ a healthy/realistic rate.<3
@caprisunchikrox4eva Lol! that's what I said soon as I saw the vid, I would pass out just having an apple before running and feelin" very dizzy at the head :)
i am on it girl!!!...me and the hubby!!!...i will leave before and after pics...and leave it on your fb!!!...Thank you sooo much for the challenge!!!!!
I love this! I've stopped eating pork and red meat as well as sodas for almost 3 months w a 15lb weight loss but reasoned w myself since I'm doing that I can still fry my fish and chicken. Lol so I'm going to bake boil or grill 6 days and hopefully I will ween myself off of fried foods. Thanks love your vids!!!!!!
This is exactly what I need! My trainer pit me on diet where I had to eat "clean" for 6 days and on the 7th day I could have a cheat day. In addition to eating healthy I was also training so I got great results! I'm gonna start on Sunday!
i love that your talking about this it is so important. i made a decision a while ago to eat for the way it makes me feel as oppose to taste. now don't get me wrong i do have my chocolate every now and then but i stay far away from tasty cakes and all that kind of stuff lol
REALLY good advice, Nap85! You're so awesome. I started trying to lead a healthy lifestyle about 4 weeks ago. I haven't had any sweets this entire time! It's been really hard. I think if I would've started off like this, it would've been much easier to wean my body off of sweets instead of go cold turkey! haha!
Yes! Dont eat anything right before a run. It will only result in cramping, trouble breathing, and for me definitely so acid reflux or puking! I ran cross country for 4 years of high school and what you eat has a direct relationship to how you run!
i'm gonna do this!!! can you like do a weekly check in vid? i know that if you're checking up on us, it''ll keep us (we'll me, anyways) motivated throughout the 4 weeks lol. thx girly
I was on a diet not so long ago. But a healthy one! I'd eat a lot of proteins, veggies, little to no sugary foods, no junk food. I'd also drink a lot of water and green tea and walk at least 20 to 30 mns everyday. I never felt better in my life, lol! But I just lost my motivation. And now that I'm back to eating crap, I FEEL LIKE CRAP, lol! Thank you for this video :)
Great video. I've been practicing a healthy lifestyle for the past year now, I find or challenging sometimes but you are so right about feeling like crap after eating it. Lol
Great advice! It sounds very similar to The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. I know a lot of people who tried this method and it works wonders! I'm taking this challenge on ASAP.
This is sooooooo true! I know that my body does NOT like dairy, gluten or soy. When I eat it, I feel fatigued and bloated....and if I really overdo it with the gluten, I actually get some joint pain and lack of concentration. I'm finally learning that eating stuff that my body doesn't like is just not worth it...I don't want to feel like refried crap! Thanks for sharing the video ;)
This is a great starting point.....I was trying to do an all raw food cleanse, and failed miserably, but this sounds like something I can definitely do. And I love the fact that it is a jumpoff to eating healthy, I can't wait to sart this Sunday!!
She's right, by coincidence I happened to do just that over the last 4 weeks. My cravings for junk food are a shadow of what they used to be. I feel heavy, lethargic, and bloated now when I do slip up and have a cupcake or something. And on top of feeling better I also lost 10 lbs, It feels pretty good.
OMG I was just thinking about I want to go back to the breakfast I use to eat. I would eat a good healthy size bowl of oatmeal with fruits and honey and I would stay full longer and feel better, I would eat a better lunch than if I ate junk for breakfast. I swear having the healthy bowl of oatmeal and fruit helped me lose some lbs and tomorrow I am going to buy the biggest container of oatmeal I can cause I miss being healthy. Fat and lathargic is so not hot.
My 3-yr old cousin just came up to the computer screen, pointed at you and said, " I want she hair!" haha I love it! You are even inspiring the babies out there.
Im really excited about this challenge...it couldnt have come at a better time..now that im trying to correct my eating habits...defo taking up this challenge!!! :)
@JNixAda77 Coffee is ok, it's the sugar and sweet creams people put in it that makes it unhealthy. As long as your having like one cup in the morning it's fine as long as you get a fat free cream or honey instead of sugar.
I'm sorry, I didn't hear a word that you said because I was looking at your gorgeous hair! Just kidding :-)...great tip, I am going to SEE if I can try this. Its kinda hard when I have a teen and a boyfriend that are not on board with changing the way we eat..ugh!
I ran track throughout high school and if u eat an apple at the wrong time it can cramp u up durin ur race. High school for me was 11yrs ago.... OMG!!!....lol.... ubt i still run and exercise as if im preparing for a meet. Im yet toned and can tell when my body weight is changing. Great video and true!!!.... I eat healthy including no beef or pork.... I ate 3 of my niece's white castle chicken rings n 10 mins later my stomach felt horrible. So, I cut fast food 7months ago cuz of that...
I used that same type of regimen uve outlined for about five years (two last years of middle school and first three years of high school. Now im in my second year of college and I dont do it anymore because ive learned what my body can and cannot take. By cutting out those things ur body either A) doesnt crave them anymore or B) cannot take them anymore without sending you to the bathroom. Bottom line, it does work with helping u learn self control and i encourage anyone to try it.!!!! :)
This is a very good challenge. i think many people fail to stick to a healthy diet because they try and go cold turkey. This method will definately promote discipline. i think i need to try this. Do you think this could lead to weight gain for those who may go overboard on that 7th day? mind you the feeling of feeling rough should halt stuffing yourself silly lol!
What you say in this video about a healthy eating lifestyle is so true. You really feel like crap after you eat crap. It is very important for us to make this a lifestyle as well as a challenge.
I am in the process of getting conditioned to get back into the ring within 2 yrs. It is tough not eating what you want, but at the risk of feeling like life is about to end, it is very worth it.
Continue educating people on how important a healthy eating lifestyle is. We need to hear it.
I know that day 7 feeling!!! just last night I had potato chips and popcorn for the first time in a few weeks, and I woke up the next day feeling horrible haha it wasnt funny then tho
are you a vegetarian by any chance? or like, are you becoming a vegetarian or something? and awesome video, i will try my hardest to do this plan!! :)
If you eat an APPLE right before a race! OMG I either want to puke or I run soooo slow.... bananas on the other hand... THUMBS up for nanners!!! I run the 400 primarily btw woot woot for the sub 60sec girls :)
Excellent video! It's so important learn how to listen to your body. When you start to notice the direct connection between what you eat and the way you feel, it's SO hard to go back to eating junk. Yeah, those french fries may smell good, but it's not worth feeling like crap all day.
Add in some exercise too and notice how completely awesome your body feels when it's working at peak performance!
Omg, this video is so timely, I've been doing this diet plan for almost 2 months, I eat very healthy during the week, and on Saturday I indulge, needless to say like clockwork on Sunday I'd feel like I'd been run over...lethargic, queasy and just plain crappy...felt like I had been poisoned.. So Hun you're speaking the truth...our bodies know what they need to function and what's just plain unnecessary and unhealthy....
You know Whitney, I have been working out a lot more for the past few months but I haven't seen much results. I really do amount it to the way I eat. I am not really trying to loose wait but I am trying to tone up. But between being a full time nursing student and working part time...it is so hard to always eat healthy and to lower down my calorie intake and be full at the same time. But I was really just thinking the other day I really need to make that step to eating healthier. Great vid!
I eat pretty healthy. I have been keeping my weight down for four years. I decided that I needed to incorporate exercise also, so I purchased a treadmill. I have been gaining weight since I have started working out on the treadmill... What's your take on this?
Ive always been small but never "toned' or had my body in peak condition..this im definitely going to try bc my weight tends to fluctuate between 140-150 depending on what is going on..I really want to have toned legs thighs and biceps..any tips? ive tried running before but being heavy up top made that very painful. if i could reduce al that first then I may try it again. :)
I definitely want to try this. This may help me with my blood pressure issues and yo-yo weight. Not to mention help my two young boys and myself back away from the sweets.
I just watched a Dr Oz show I recorded the other day, and they had a guy on there that basically was saying the same thing-with his plan, he claims you could lose 2- lbs in 30 days. In addition, he recommended drinking ice cold water, taking ice baths and/or cold showers, and putting ice packs on the upper back and neck-this is supposed to make your body work harder to stay warm which in turn burn more calories-Dr Oz actually backs this! Sounds like it's worth giving a try...
Hey laineytube75! Oh wow! Thats interesting! But I'm thinking that's good for if someone wants to loose weight short term. I'm not sure how sustainable that is for lifetime success in maintaining health. This is more for changing your eating habit to FEEL healthy not just loose weight. And will in turn change your eating habits over the course of your life. But I'll def keep that ice trick in mind the next time I'm headed out to the beach and need to quickly tighten some areas, lol!! <3
I'm all in on this challenge.. You are such a inspiration and a joy to watch!!! Thank you for sharing all of your wisdom and caring enough to do so!!!
This is so true!!! It worked for me when I started to eat healthy. Once I got used to it... now I don't even enjoy junk food as much anymore. I’d rather have some peaches and cottage cheese. Her tip is great...**just make sure you are not starving yourself. Eating healthy does not mean iceberg lettuce with salad dressing all day. It does not mean grapefruit and cheerios all day. You WILL FAIL with that method. Healthy = whole grains, protein, fiber & "nutrient dense fats" like nuts or EVOO. :)
I can't wait to start this I've been having lots of prob trying to get back on tack with my eating, and healthy lifestyle . Thanks love you just gave me some motivation.
This is wonderful! I've been struggling to get back on track with my weightloss and healthy eating habits. I am definitely in. Thanks for taking time out of your day to not only give us hair tips and styles but also tips on living a healthy lifestyles. I love both of your channels! :-)
Great challenge and you get to learn your body. Win, win!!!! I was all geeked until you said you're gonna feel like crap. I'm still game. There is just no way around the junk food issue. Thanks, Z.
Beside salads what esle could I eat during those 6 days? I work ALOT and I'm usually snacking on candy to keep me going. But Im still sluggish only 2 hours into to work. So I try drinking more water. I kept to it for about 3 days I couldnt resist the pops the store was selling. O by the way I work in a deli at an grocery store. Lol anyway could you tell what esle I can snack on that can keep me going during my shift and that also healthy during those 6 days.
Yup right on time. I've been seriously thinking about going semi-vegetarian because of the way I tend to overindulge on meats and not enough veggies. My next check is going to the produce section.
Well I just saw this video and I'm gonna start this Monday so I can go grocery shopping for this!! I've lost 26 pounds and have 30 more to go!! Excited about seeing the results after I start cutting out all of the junk!! Love the Ice Cream Alternative video by the way!!

And ever since then my boyfriend has been nagging about my eating habits. So this video is very encouraging to me. I will leave you a video response at the end of MY four weeks and I will try to encourage others on my channel and blog to do the same.
Ciao bella, love your channel

having a cheat day also helps your metabolism rebound/ reset and potentially lose more fat if you are on a weight loss program. some people's metabolism slows when on a sustained program... even though you feel like crap its a nice way to send a reminder to your body too what is worth detoxing :)

it makes sense to eat clean throughout the week. having one cheat meal/snack a day is more damaging than i realized, because i've gained weight doin that crap. i'm goin back to my once per week thing.

Tell me, what are your thoughts on juice fasting? I just saw Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, and I am thinking about starting a juice fast for 10-15 days. Have you ever tried it?
Nookiebell11 7 months ago
@Nookiebell11 I saw that documentary last weekend and I'm sold! I'm going to try it next month for 10 days. I've been reading about his Reboot program and just other juice fasting sites as well..I plan on starting it on a Friday so I have the weekend to go through that 'withdrawl' tired rough time...
Sexynubi 7 months ago
@Nookiebell11 I just watched that and it was sooo interesting. I think anything should be done in moderation. The cost of the juicing, depending on your location, may hurt the pockets, esp. if you are going organic. However, if it's something you really want and need, I think the universe will provide it for you. I was thinking of trying the juicing when my funds are better. In the mean time, I am doing the fit for life diet and I have lost about 11lbs in 4 weeks!

It's when I'm caught off guard by hunger that I end up at Starbucks with a piece of cake masquerading as "bread" in one hand and a sugared-up latte in the other.
kuumba60 7 months ago
@kuumba60 Lol, that is sooo true! When I leave the house I always try to leave with a bag of organic baby carrots or some almonds! A great snack food with many nutritional benefits. And it gives you a little of the sweetness that we look for when our bodies are saying sweets now!

I'm so in! i was just saying to a classmate of mine that when i used to run and eat healthy i felt great. but since being in school full time and being a full time singled mom my days of eating well and keeping cardio up went to the pooper! now i am tired all the time. on top of that i have put on weight on top of the muscles i use to have. i know they are still there i just gotta find them again. this challenge comes at a perfect time for me cause i'm going on vacation from school.

What happens if you eat an apple @ the wrong time? How will it ruin your track meet? I ran track in high school and I don't know the answer to this...lol
123abcgagaga 7 months ago
Lol, hey 123abcgagaga! Well, apples are a natural laxative... so mix a natural laxative with pre-race jitters... lol.... yeeaaaaah. Toilet-Central. LOL! Definitely stay away from the apples before a race... after you're done.. Go For It.. but before the race, it's like Kryptonite to Super Man, lol!!! My teamates and I used to always joke about that! Lolol... learned that one the hard way. <3 <3

excellent idea! i believe that so many of us have never had our bodies "clean" enough to know the difference of how that feels versus the "norm" of how we eat which often makes us sluggish, etc. i.e., sluggish = normal and we don't know that something else/better exists. also, as a long-term lifestyle change, the idea of not totally giving up "treats" but knowing that you can have them one day should help eliminate the drive to just "have it now" every time we think of them. thanks for sharing.
chevelleflorida 7 months ago
Hey chevelleflorida! No problem!! That's exactly it! Such a great way to FEEl the difference. And I definitely canNOT go without my treats, lol, but because I know how my body feels if I overindulge, I tend to not go there, really ever... unless it's like Thanksgiving or Christmas, or a holiday, or a Saturday... lol, jk! But yea, it definitely helps you control how you eat when you know exactly how you will feel afterwards! <3

REALLY good advice, Nap85! You're so awesome. I started trying to lead a healthy lifestyle about 4 weeks ago. I haven't had any sweets this entire time! It's been really hard. I think if I would've started off like this, it would've been much easier to wean my body off of sweets instead of go cold turkey! haha!
atypicalhair 7 months ago
Yes! Dont eat anything right before a run. It will only result in cramping, trouble breathing, and for me definitely so acid reflux or puking! I ran cross country for 4 years of high school and what you eat has a direct relationship to how you run!

I was on a diet not so long ago. But a healthy one! I'd eat a lot of proteins, veggies, little to no sugary foods, no junk food. Fat and lathargic is so not hot.

@JNixAda77 Coffee is ok, it's the sugar and sweet creams people put in it that makes it unhealthy. As long as your having like one cup in the morning it's fine as long as you get a fat free cream or honey instead of sugar.

We need to hear it.

kahjoi1102 7 months ago
Excellent video! It's so important learn how to listen to your body. When you start to notice the direct connection between what you eat and the way you feel, it's SO hard to go back to eating junk. Yeah, those french fries may smell good, but it's not worth feeling like crap all day.
Add in some exercise too and notice how completely awesome your body feels when it's working at peak performance!
CurlyCrazyfulLeah 7 months ago

Great vid!

Sounds like it's worth giving a try...
laineytube75 7 months ago 2
@laineytube75 i meant to say lose 20 lbs in 30 days.
laineytube75 7 months ago
Hey laineytube75! Oh wow! Thats interesting! But I'm thinking that's good for if someone wants to loose weight short term. I'm not sure how sustainable that is for lifetime success in maintaining health. This is more for changing your eating habit to FEEL healthy not just loose weight. And will in turn change your eating habits over the course of your life. But I'll def keep that ice trick in mind the next time I'm headed out to the beach and need to quickly tighten some areas, lol!! <3
