I believe the undisclosed owner (at the time the video was posted) is none other than Jay Leno. If not then there were indeed Duesenbergs built that looked alike because Jay has one identical (that he blew the head on running at 130 mph).
I won't even speculate on how high it would go, but I can say that Ron Pratte would be involved. He did buy the Futurliner Bus and Carol Shelby's AC Cobra 427.
It would be correct to say that only the mega rich could afford the $25000 to buy this magnificient car. Double overhead cams, four valves per cylinder in the straight eight engine in 1929
@shyml1 In 1929 the best Packard or Cadillac money could buy was maybe $7000. Few Duesies were built and most buyers were the Noveau Riche and famous. Old Money drove Packards and Pierce Arrows.
Never knew Hughes owned one. Duesenberg's were usually sold to royalties and very rich celebrities like Clark Gable and Gary Cooper, both of which had one.

@HeadTater I would really like to see Mr Pratt's car collection!

@devonevans Sadly, I believe it is private. A man should not have such a collection and not share it with the public.

I would rather have an SJ, with the pipes coming out the side.

Agreed, but I don't think they were available in 1929 when this was built.

Why do these fuckin rich car owners always like to remain anonymous. They must be up to something bad and don't want attention.

Lol they're on the "PROWL". I really think that The long wheelbase Duesenberg's, Bugatti's and Delahaye's of the 30's were wonderful cars.

It's spelled "Duesenberg"
Never knew Hughes owned one. Duesenberg's were usually sold to royalties and very rich celebrities like Clark Gable and Gary Cooper, both of which had one.

Yeah, but then again, he loved new, creative, and influential designs; so I think it makes sense.
