Real talk Oueen Latifah is one of the best femcees ever...her stretch from 1989 to 1997 she produced some certified bangers...fuck Nicki, Remy, Trina, Jackie-O and all the rest of these wack artists...Queen, MC Lyte, Roxanne, Lil Kim in the her prime and Foxy Brown in her prime were among the best. Late 80's and 90's hip hop for life.
My God! I think I am in love with Queen Latifah now! Beautiful song! Amazing! The whole 'Black Reign' album is great, with an obvious special mention to this beat and 'U.N.I.T.Y' :D
damn living in jersey makes me feel good. having 3 underrated rappers (Joe Budden,RedMan and Queen Latifah) that lives in your state and raps about the truth gives me chills. repping from the 609
@xdivision100 sorry, please remove Joe Budden from that short list and replace with NaughtybyNature, Lauryn Hill or even Rah Digga. Joe is too cocky for his own good plus Joe does not know about real hip-hop!!! Put his name next to Nicki Minaj and her "Stupid Hoe" track!!!

today it's only about making money and to make the masses comfortable, man fvck that shit!
if rappers today cared about rap they'd look at rappers like PE, Ice T and NWA. They made raps for themselves, their audience, then somehow white boys loved it!
they got their message out with kick ass beats and sounds, made money, got exposure and respect.
the music, styles and times before 2005 was all good and it's good I'm not the only one that sees that.
BTW, i was sitting here watching/listening to Hip Hop Classic on Music Choice.
Lil Wayne, Drake and Minaj fans need to watch it.
We had cool educated and original rappers then. Yes educated! It was cool to be educated, smart and aware of your surroundings then and at the same time have a good time spreading a message.
when i blaze the kush and watch this i swear memory lane kickz in and it takez me right back to the highschool dayz, dam itz krazy how 18yearz pass and it dont hit u until u rewind time wit the videos

this is a song you want to smoke hella weed too .. on the front porch just kicking it in the with the homeys in the hood ... cause it's just another day livin in the hood ..
@yoyoyoy500 She has 2 Jazz themed CDs - The Dana Owens Album (2004) and Trav'lin Light (2007).
on her Jazz cds, she does cover songs. She did a cover of "Simply beautiful" Originally by Al Green. He's even Featured on her cover. She did a cover of "poetry man" Originally by Phoebe Snow, "i'm not in love" originally by 10cc, a cover of "California dreamin' originally by the Mama's & The Papas, and many others
@MrPremium45 you sound stupid too, saying they are stupid for liking Lil Wayne. i dont like lil wayne, but i dont call others stupid if they do. you have to learn some humility kid. their musical taste is of their biznez. its a shame when people who like classics act like that
Because good has been betrayed as darkness and bad is the light.. SMH I do not know, but we know whats good.. We keep this alive just by listening to them...Hotep
Hot track, haven't heard this in a minute. I have to look thru some old boxes to see if i still have this CD. Always had a thing for da Queen, she still looks good and has a great personality.
raw talent

Perfect melody right here. lol
Btw Im 13 and i only listen to classics, it's funny how kids in school say that Lil wayne and his posse can rip Legends like Tupac and Nas and all.
I just laugh at them because they have no idea how stupid they sound. :)

@MrPremium45 you sound stupid too, saying they are stupid for liking Lil Wayne. i dont like lil wayne, but i dont call others stupid if they do. you have to learn some humility kid. their musical taste is of their biznez. its a shame when people who like classics act like that

Hot track, haven't heard this in a minute. I have to look thru some old boxes to see if i still have this CD. Always had a thing for da Queen, she still looks good and has a great personality.
