  • raw talent

  • this song bring me back so many memories , thanks for uploading

  • Real talk Oueen Latifah is one of the best femcees ever...her stretch from 1989 to 1997 she produced some certified bangers...fuck Nicki, Remy, Trina, Jackie-O and all the rest of these wack artists...Queen, MC Lyte, Roxanne, Lil Kim in the her prime and Foxy Brown in her prime were among the best. Late 80's and 90's hip hop for life.

  • My God! I think I am in love with Queen Latifah now! Beautiful song! Amazing! The whole 'Black Reign' album is great, with an obvious special mention to this beat and 'U.N.I.T.Y' :D

  • Damnnnnnnn high school 94. Memories. Good times.

  • Just another day

  • REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

  • dope !

  • damn living in jersey makes me feel good. having 3 underrated rappers (Joe Budden,RedMan and Queen Latifah) that lives in your state and raps about the truth gives me chills. repping from the 609

  • @xdivision100 Dont forget Naughty

  • @xdivision100 sorry, please remove Joe Budden from that short list and replace with NaughtybyNature, Lauryn Hill or even Rah Digga. Joe is too cocky for his own good plus Joe does not know about real hip-hop!!! Put his name next to Nicki Minaj and her "Stupid Hoe" track!!!

  • @1truthfulman i know i forgot naughty by nature and lauryn hill but joe budden def deserves to be up there. ok hes cocky but listen to his music hes not rapping about money, women, bling, cars. he is telling a story of his life in his songs. i can tell you never listened to joe budden rap before

  • she need 2 keep on rapping shell kill nicki!

  • This is one of 515 and counting reasons why we all subscribed to Vintage Hip Hop Seattle.

  • Damn...makes me think about back in the days...I was 13 when this came out...miss them 90's.

  • Old School sick, New School suck.

  • Back then you didnt have to call your self the baddest b word to be a good rapper(Lil Kim) it was all about talent. If you could flow like any other mc you were considered a rapper. Not a sex symbol

  • What's crazy is that the baby being pushed in that stroller @0:38 is grown today basically, damn this time is going by fast.

  • damn she cold

  • fuck all tha new hip hop/rap even she goes harder then all that new music

  • prodigy cant complain

  • This is what i call rap. These niggas nowadays only on money

  • Its THE QUEEN Bitches...

  • today it's only about making money and to make the masses comfortable, man fvck that shit!

if rappers today cared about rap they'd look at rappers like PE, Ice T and NWA. They made raps for themselves, their audience, then somehow white boys loved it!

they got their message out with kick ass beats and sounds, made money, got exposure and respect.

  • these comments make me cry on the inside.

the music, styles and times before 2005 was all good and it's good I'm not the only one that sees that.

BTW, i was sitting here watching/listening to Hip Hop Classic on Music Choice.

Lil Wayne, Drake and Minaj fans need to watch it.

We had cool educated and original rappers then. Yes educated! It was cool to be educated, smart and aware of your surroundings then and at the same time have a good time spreading a message.

    Today it's ALL cartoonish mess.

  • @GrumpyOldAssFart this generation don't know no better it's sad they don't know real music

  • when i blaze the kush and watch this i swear memory lane kickz in and it takez me right back to the highschool dayz, dam itz krazy how 18yearz pass and it dont hit u until u rewind time wit the videos

  • Incredible soulful track from a classic era of Hip-Hop real! Big up Dana Owens

  • wow i love this song this is like my favorite song by her

  • The 90s = Classic Simpsons, good economy, Frasier and hip hop at its finest.

21st century = Zombie Simpsons, bad economy, Mike and molly and hip hop at its worst.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 this is how it was for me

90's clothing = baggy jeans and long tees

90's shows = funny, cool, classics, incredible, mtv playing nothing but music videos all day and not showing stupid shows

90's music = real, had meanings and messages and not talking about money, bling, women

lol, i still have a walkman and prefer a tape deck in my car - I believe they are more versatile since i got hundreds of tapes and the cassette adapters are better than transmitters.

  • Can this haunting beat ever be replicated?

This is an anthem right here.

  • We are just using it!

  • We all need to understand this isnt our land.. We are just use to it and use to using it!

  • Queens were born since B.C. 2 A.D. I am so glad to be part of late 80's to the early 90's era that its rediculous! Thank you hip hop for haveing me live in order to understand and love in order to dislike, you would never expect if you were to see me on the street to have so much respect for anything other then the sweet smell of fall or the cool summer breeze to make me understand that we have came a long way, and this sista is 1 that not only took us there but kept us there. We've came so far

  • If you know there were many queens and kings made in the world B.C. and A.D. One of tha best queens i have met yet were layed in the late 80's and early 90's. Im so glad to be part of this era that its rediculous... So many good and bad memorys from the smell of the air after the first leaf that fell from the tree from the sweet smell and touch of fall. Every good and bad is ok because we couldnt wait for the next moment to see what was good besides everything that we were expecting, Thanks Life

  • vintage queen latifah , when hip hop was real, makes you want to cry.

  • @AtheosRecords hehe right cuz they not even in the same LEAGUE!! lmaooooo

  • well latifa is one of the greatest artists of all time, minaj has not even been around long enough to compare

  • i LOVED THE Black Reign Album

  • why are some of yoou guys dissing nikki minaj? she is nice. i love queen, but minaj iz nice, too. you don't have to diss her to appreciate latifah.

  • she is singular ! when it comes to spitting lyrics..bad ass

  • Such a clasic! I think this might be my fav Queen La song? So smooth! Shame on me for not kopn that Black Reign album when it dropped! This iz her last good album! She fell off after this! I think I'm gonna go buy this album now!

  • This is my lay back and think song.

  • Music today is trying to sell to make money. This music right here is trying to sell, but not for money..... for something else :)

  • back when hiphop had soul indeed

  • back when hip hop had soul

  • DAYUUMMMM like no shyt like no diss but like i hear lil kim an foxxy brown minaj and all dem an like DAYUM they good an all but Latifah go strong with her rap!!!

  • This is before she became a sellout. Most excellent

  • THE BEST FEMALE MC

  • I miss when Hip Hop was like this..now it's all about getting ass, shooting up, slinging crack, smoking weed..etc.

  • OLD SCHOOL

  • I ♥'d this woman...even read her book, lol. I lalways loved the Herb Alpert 'Making Love In The Rain' sample...these days I always think of Ralph David Abernathy Blvd in Atlanta when I hear the line "Get a 'Final Call' from the brotha in the bow-tie", lol...

  • look at cleo haaha

  • I miss music like this when hip hop told a story and made u proud of bein frm the hood!

  • WHO CARES ABOUT THIS SHIT? JUST ENJOY THE VIDEO! AFFFF... PEOPLE

  • Everything about this track is beautiful, Nicki Minaj can't even come CLOSE

  • this is a song you want to smoke hella weed too .. on the front porch just kicking it in the with the homeys in the hood ... cause it's just another day livin in the hood ..

  • I've read that she also does jazz. Can anyone name a jazz song of hers?.

  • @yoyoyoy500 She has 2 Jazz themed CDs - The Dana Owens Album (2004) and Trav'lin Light (2007).

on her Jazz cds, she does cover songs. She did a cover of "Simply beautiful" Originally by Al Green. He's even Featured on her cover. She did a cover of "poetry man" Originally by Phoebe Snow, "i'm not in love" originally by 10cc, a cover of "California dreamin' originally by the Mama's & The Papas, and many others

  • Perfect melody right here. lol

Btw Im 13 and i only listen to classics, it's funny how kids in school say that Lil wayne and his posse can rip Legends like Tupac and Nas and all.

I just laugh at them because they have no idea how stupid they sound. :)

  • @MrPremium45 you sound stupid too, saying they are stupid for liking Lil Wayne. i dont like lil wayne, but i dont call others stupid if they do. you have to learn some humility kid. their musical taste is of their biznez. its a shame when people who like classics act like that

  • Because good has been betrayed as darkness and bad is the light.. SMH I do not know, but we know whats good.. We keep this alive just by listening to them...Hotep

  • Hot track, haven't heard this in a minute. I have to look thru some old boxes to see if i still have this CD. Always had a thing for da Queen, she still looks good and has a great personality.
