i usually just use Hellfire to dodge his rapidly shooting fireballs, you can just warp behind him and he'll attack the direction where you were...

Ya know there's a much easier way to move faster than changing into a bat and using wing smash all the time. Alternate between sliding and using your shield. The trick is when you bring your shield out it resets the ability to slide. It takes some getting used to at first but it's definitely worth it once you get it down.

You can damage the boss much more by hitting him at the head, I did 15 damage at his feet and 50 on his head. It would save you lots of time.

These video's are amazing. Hilarious! Do you find though, when you try and get the Jewel Sword from the Damascus Lord the game sometimes crashes? Only happens on the X-Box version though. Still a classic and very addictive game, completed it so many times I've lost count.
