  • Anthony Andrews was great as Percy, but the the movie was almost nothing like the book...I was VERY disappointed...

  • @MsBarnBum I agree with you on that point. I have seen several versions of the SP and none have particularly followed the book.

  • @spikesbint That stinks! The book was SO good!

  • Anthony Andrews and Leslie Howard are by far the most handsome men, In my opinion ^^ But I think Leslie's version of the poem is better

  • Gandalf!!!

  • He is fabulous. And the music you chose for the background gave it such a nuance. Great job.

  • This is by far the best miniseries! I first saw this when I was 8, and have loved Anthony Andrews ever since! I have it on vhs and dvd, and the book is my very favourite book....there is a series, but some of the other books are hard to find. They are all very good! Thanks for posting!

  • Anthony A. is such a perfect picture of the SP character! I love his acting:) the '82 version is my favorite!

  • Anthony Andrews is SUCH a terrific actor! He makes me want to jump into my TV!

  • Anyone else think that his face looks exactly like the face of a lion cub? In a really really attractive way? :D

  • Sink me, you have taste sir. Savour it, by gad.

  • I also saw this movie in History class. It was in the 10th grade when we did the French Revolution

  • I love it although one would not want him to remain elusive around bedtime hahahh ;-)

  • Love it!

  • I love this movie. it is one of my all time favorite movies.

  • Thank you for this clip. One of my favorite films for a long time. Beautiful music as well.

  • Anthony Andrews is so pretty

  • You should watch Bridehead Revisited, if you haven't already seen it. He is especially handsome in it.

  • I absolutely love this movie! Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour are completely and utterly perfect in this movie!

  • I don't know how it would be possible to watch this movie and NOT get a crush on Anthony Andrews! =)

  • The 1982 version of the Scarlet Pimpernel is the best version. It's definitly one of my favorite.

  • This is the best scarlet pimp the new series with richard grant is terrible!!!

  • I agree, although I like Richard E Grant, AA is the best Pimpernel

  • I have a bit of a crush on him too(:

    He's amazingg haha

    nice video!

  • Thanks, yeah I still watch this every so often and I do not normally go for blond men but he has something about him and perfect for this role

  • This was great! I especially love the Handel. Lovely backdrop. Anthony Andrews - THE most gorgeous actor ever.

  • He is, and seemed made for the role, :D

  • hmm... maybe Johnny Depp scrapes in first XD

  • Ah, kieghacat, Johnny Depp is absolutely superb in every way, I agree wholeheartedly! Very intelligent too. Go look at a website called "DeepintoDepp" (I think). But ahead of AA?? Nah! Impossible to beat him, m'dear!

  • Beautifully done.

  • Thank you :)

  • can you make a video that has the scene where they are in the library and without anything but the movie. no background music or anything. just what the movie is.

  • I would but of late youtube have had a habit of removing clips like that, I have had some deleted :(

  • The hairs of the actors are very special but I adore the movie. Very romantic. And the music...

  • I love the Scarlet Pimpernel, this version especially. :D

  • Does anyone know where the film can be watched in full online? I just read the novel and this film I hear is supposed to be an excellent adaption of the book

  • it is XD Anthony Andrews brings alot of fun to the character, and I think he is what makes this movie

  • go on youtube and type either "the scarlet pimpernel part 2" or '' cozypillowx " either way its under cozypillowx username.

  • "We seek him here, we seek him there, Those Frenchies seek him everywhere...Is He in Heaven, or is He in Hell? That damned..elusive..Pimpernel!" Love it, Anthony is THE Pimpernel!

  • I agree, he is just wonderful :)

  • Dear Sir, This video completes me. I loved the movie and I couldn't have done this any better. Thank you. Plus, I'm rather mad that this is the only video with the good "They Seek Him" poem.

  • Glad you liked it, AA was so good as the Pimpernel and delivers the poem to perfection :)

  • Odds Fish, m'dear, but tisn't the only one! This vid is absolutely great, but there are many great vids out there - seek 'em under The Scarlet Pimpernel and you'll find 'em. Look for CheekySmiley-she loves AA madly and has the poem in hers too! :-)

  • Sink me, but you're right

  • What is the name of this wonderful music, as to the scarlet pimpernel, just great, in today's world, we need a Sir Percy, and his secret club.

  • The bit of music is by Handel and is called Sarabande :)

  • Thankyou very much. Malcolm, (Grandmaster) Order of Philosopical Alchemist's.

  • i love this film !!! and this music vid very well made!! do you know were i could watch this online i've caught twice channel 5 but i've never seen it the whole way through!! its so annoying

  • go on youtube type the scarlet pimpernel part 2 or under the username cozypillowx . either way its under that username.

  • Superbly acted by Mr Andrews. My local MP THE SPEAKER at Westminster has proved to be more elusive than the 'Scarlet Pimpernel', and sink me if some heads will not be rolling soon at the blade of Madame Guillotine once more ???????

  • Lol, I have watched it a lot myself, not got that good at remembering the lines yet though :D

  • Sink Meh, for I have watched the movie many times myself. Your not the only one who dosen't have a life. LOL! Once again thank you.

  • I would've liked this a lot more if I didn't have to write a paper on it.

  • Lol, it can take the joy out of it.

  • Goodness, I've watched this way back in high school, and somehow the poem that Pimpernel recited got stuck in my head till now! His stance, his facial expressions.....priceless! :))

Never thot I would see this again after sooooo long... Thank you, thank you, thank you for uploading this!

  • You are welcome, it had been years since I had seen it and then someone offered me the dvd and I didn't say no. :)

  • i love this movie. i had to watch it in high school as well you didn't by chance have Spatz did you? if you had him you would understand if not sorry to bug you.

  • This was the first version of the Scarlet Pimpernel I ever saw and it's still my favorite. And I totally know what you mean about having a crush on Anthony Andrews after seeing it!

  • He was made for the role :D Years ago I saw the really old version, and also most of the Richard E. Grant one, but AA is still my favourite. :D

  • I love it too, AA was wonderful as Sir Percy :)

  • Hey Angela! It's me--Jiaborama from C19. I'm glad you had seen the film and liked it! (Please give my thanks to your friend who gave you the DVD!) Anthony Andrews has been my very first crush for some 20 years.

You made lovely video to a beautiful song. I like that you included him reciting the poem. And I had watched Richard E. Grant version. I think the series is good in its own way.

  • hi :D I have the biggest crush on him at the moment, some people are born to play certain roles and I think this was his :) Yes I like the Richard E. Grant series too, I intend to get it sometime, but this is wonderful.
