its good that you put these videos here. People need to be exposed to it more often it seems, because barely anyone breastfeeds and it's a flippin shame. Kids have allergies more and are sick more than any other time in history because they are not breast fed. Too many people think boobs are their for Men's sexual enjoyment and making a woman sexy, then they turn around and feed their BABY milk that was meant for another animal/species.

It's ridiculous. THEY WERE MEANT FOR BABIES.

@IHEARTDIMKA11 it only hurts if the baby doesn't latch on properly, and only in the very beginning. the nipples toughen up within a month and from then on it's a rather nice experience, not a painful one :)

Initial skin to skin contact is important for newborns and is one of the factors in developing that mother-child bond. I agree with Refflection... well and also u say that now, im sure you will change your mind once you go through the mothering classes and read some books on the subject... the benefits of breastfeeding > what your "feelings" or opinions are.

Such a sweet baby! Are cloth diapers more difficult or more messy than regular diapers? congrats on the breast feeding. More people need to know it's benefits.

Personally I find cloth diapers easier than disposables. I use them for many purposes, such as spit up wipes or to put under her when she's having naked time. In addition, I've never had an explosive poop get out of control in the cloth diapers - whereas with disposables it's happened several times. We use a service, so I don't have to do any of the washing. Sometimes we use 7th Gen disposables if we're on a trip. Otherwise, cloth all the way baby!

Yes this is true, and I have heard of mothers orgasming during breastfeeding. For most mothers the feeling of love and attachment supersedes the physical response. I was actually rather close to orgasm when I was giving birth, during the transition period. Babies come from sex, so they are closely linked to it physiologically. There is also the fact that your libido drops drastically during the postpartum period, so the hormones get associated more with bonding rather than sex.

So in some ways, breastfeeding can be considered somewhat erotic but perhaps not "sexual" the way some people would like to interpret it...for example the sexual connection between lovers or partners might be different than the erotic/love connection between mother and child.

Yes, absolutely. It's quite taboo in this culture because we are so repressed here. Being nude is no big deal in many other countries, not only in indigenous cultures but in places like Europe. Not sure how people became so afraid of natural human instincts, but I heard it had something to do with the puritan beliefs of early settlers?

Childbearing and breastfeeding being equated with sexual acts is a new one, probably since the bottle feeding craze of the 50s - 80s. We BF our children for shorter periods of time here in the U.S. than just about anywhere else. There is a counter movement to that these days, and I'm proud to be part of it.
