Notice the deep meaning of each sound . I think instrumental music is far more profound than vocal music. And obviously more impersonal, neutral. Carla Bley: sublime musique as always !
I really don't care what they look like. Such organized sound in silence transcends fashion and facial expression. In spite of the heavenly nature of the tune, let us not forget the incredible focus and concentration responsible for its creation. A Neru jacket, or a turtle neck, or a mullet are besides the point. Just close your eyes and drift away. PEACE...
Just the very right moment to hear such from them both, incredibly chilling, easy listening, good qualified, taking mind away, it has it all! 5* and many thanks for the post
@IsuckYoungBlood he usually plays a Citron AE bass, though he used Gibson EB0s, Fenders and Parkers throughout his career. Fun fact: he always plays with an aluminum pick!!
yeah...living together for close to 30 yrs i guess
a strange thing is how close she has been to any of her ex- or current lovers musically. think of paul b., mike mantler and steve. and they're all keeping up and revering each other constantly. quite distinct.
i love the commentary this engenders. normally i have to put up w/ a lot foul mouthed chuckleheads w/ poor educations and really bad manners.thanks for being out there guys.

I have been a big fan of this song since it came out in 1987. I have the LP and the CD. Larry Willis played the piano on this orginally, and Carla played the organ. It's a fantastically wonderful piece and I fell like my life have been enriched by having come in contact with this tremendous composition.
Thanks Carla, Steve, for creating such beautiful incredible music. This is what life is about - appreciating the now and the beauty we can create and /or appreciate in it.
I share all what is said here. This song could have been called 'LOVE" or "SESIBILITY" as it so strong the emotions between both and us too. Thank you to them. Antoine from France
This is an AMAZING performance. So real. Great piece. I have been a huge fan of Carla and her amazing span of music. She's a great inspiration. I also love how she has so wonderfully set Steve up with so many wonderful worlds to play in.
What a great couple.
These are two of my musical heroes.
Thanks for posting.
Long live music that is free, explorative, and soulful.
I've been loving Carla's music for over 20 yrs. and looking for this video, one of my favorite songs. One of my dreams is to see her in concert! Thanks for posting it.
Wow, what magnificent and beautiful piano playing - I feel so dreamy now... Thank you!

@Tellusnow Actually, this song is called "Lawns". It's on the same album as the more rock groove "Healing Power" which featured Hiram Bullock.

@IsuckYoungBlood This particular Bass is an early F-Bass from Canada. It was made by George Furlanetto many, many years ago.
