I've seen some pastors (few) that act like they are put there to please- alone, and don't you dare cross them. It made me sick. I think this form of power- force and pride is easy for anyone to fall into if they aren't careful.  I've seen pastors that write books about how they are a hero, and that is only the beginning of the story. I do believe that we can't all be indians with no chiefs at all in our life, but I have seen this.

The Borg without a Queen just ain't "The Borg". I think this is the problem the plebeian proto-rabbinic sages had with their patrician counter-parts. So, they advanced the concept of individual sovereignty & vassalship to YHVH. They also promoted the rights of women in an attempt to move their culture away from treating them as chattel. Hence, the marriage contract, which outlined the woman's rights; opposition to polygamy & arranged marriages with minors; the right to obtain a divorce, etc.
