The phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance wasn't added until the 1950s. Founding the nation under God is not what the founding fathers had in mind. In fact, many of the founding fathers were not Christian, many of them were masons. George Washington said in the Treaty of Versailles that the United States is in no way founded under the Christian doctrine.

Also, churches are not preaching the word of God, nor is the word of God the Bible. The Bible is the word of God INTERPRETED by man.
