Thats a bad application of the "rules". He was just defending himself from the ball like a batsman would by instinct. The ball was never going to hit the stumps.
He was out of the crease long way. Its the fielder's choice to throw at the stumps. He blocked it but should have turned back and tried to reach the crease. So that is out well within the rule.
Steve Waugh did the same thing in a more elaborate manner. He tried blocking the ball with his hands against the same opposition. That is an entirely different story :P

How can players of that level drop 6 catches like that. We use to play cricket only within our small town in Pakistan. And we used to have kids in out teams who won't drop catches like those of Sachin's dropped in Semifinal. 4 of Sachin's and overall 6 catches were dropped. So i don't even know why do u make it n issue when its only about cricket.

so dont u think if that ball hit inzamam that probably would not have hurt him, but still their isnt 100% true, it could have hurt, and so to avoid any injuries he put the bat to stop the ball from coming at him, he didnt block the wicket he was just infront of it, and what he blocked was his body from an injurie, so that shouldnt be out.
