  • My band's third movement in our show is based off this, it's such a good song

  • I heard this and just got it on iTunes. One of the best versions I've ever heard. I love it when groups use classic hymns of faith with such deep theology, and update them with a more contemporary feel. Thanks for posting!

  • The video is a bit trippy. Not a bad arrangement, but this is not how i like for these types of hymns to be sung.

  • 2:42 eargasm!!!!!

  • I love this hymn. And I love this group! But the arrangement seemed a bit frenetic. If that's the right word. I wish they'd consider doing a sort of toned down arrangement.

  • last chord...WOW O.O

  • Even though it seems like the devil is taking more and more control over Earth, we have one thing he doesnt.....GOD/JESUS/HOLY GHOST, the triune. Our victory is assured through the mighty one.

  • Luke 2:14a; "Glory to God... and on earth peace" Hebrews 2:14b-15; "by his death he might destroy... the power of death... and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death." (vs.8b-9a); "In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him. But we see Jesus." (vs.3); "how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?"

  • my mom is 51 years oldand loves this song

  • @tkd812 me too!!!

  • I have always adored this version of a great hymn.

  • Martin Luther wrote this song shortly after he wrote the hateful book "On Jews and Their Lies."It said they should be killed and their property burned.YOU CAN BUY THIS BOOK! It is demonic, Hitler loved it as he did the hatred Paul wrote about Jews. How can any followr of Jesus sing this song from an instigator of murder. Not only did he hate Jews,he hated peasants.Jesus identifies Paul in Rev2 as the false apostle and the one teaching Balaak Doctrine.Paul says all rejected him from Jesus'church

  • @thedagonjones Lovers of the Lord Jesus Christ sing this song in recognition of the truthfulness of its words. No one who believes in Jesus would deny the truthfulness of this song. People who do and say reprehensible things can still relay the truth. You are utilizing an abusive ad-hominem form of argument. It is unreasonable to believe that since someone did or said something wrong that EVERYTHING they said afterward is false or hateful. This song is true. Many things Luther said is true.

  • Jesus identified PAUL as the false apostle?! I don't think Paul taught them to commit fornication, as he quite clearly condemns it in many of his epistles, (Corinthians?)

  • Though I am definitely a traditionalist I absolutely love hearing different approaches such as this. One may not like this.....but you can't escape the passion with which this was made- you can feel it- and it's wonderful! Love it- thank you for posting!!

  • Music is to inspire, Classic and Modern versions together...... One does not take from the other.

  • I already have ,Thank you Jesus,!!!

  • Glad is always in a Class by themselves. Do you have "Forget Me Not" by Glad? Thanks

  • this is definitely different but I like it ;-)

  • Beautiful!

  • The background ruined this. It made me feel seasick.

  • Excellent =BLESS GOD= !

  • That sounds like "Straight No Chaser" singing this

  • Brilliant work! Glad is always a blessing to me.

  • You should listen to the Trio "Greater Vision" sing this song. It will literally make you feel triumphant and victorious every time.

  • What the heck is with the image in the background? Stop messing with it!

  • dude, that is sweet. thank you for spending your time to make that. Amen!

  • Music is nice. St. Augustine said something like, "Love [agape, charity] and do what thou wilt."

This seems to be a good encapsulation of the Teaching of Christ.

  • GLAD??? you are our ancient foe

  • Why do you say that, berea?

  • this is my great great great great great great great grandpa Luther

  • lol, what's up with this? i wanna hear the earth-shattering rumble of organ pipes.

  • Yeah, same here! Anyone know where there is one?

  • The organ is wonderful, but cannot sing. These men can sing even without the organ. Amen!

  • Best acapella group EVER! they are doing GODS work! Matthew 25:15 they are using their talents!

I recommend that anyone who likes their music buy the collector's series.

  • I remember seeing this in concert along time ago.

  • Thank you for sharing. The words to this song and the beautiful voices really encourage my heart.

  • that´s too much "easy listening" for my taste-guess my bloodsugar is sky-high now.

  • This is the first version I heard of thesong so long ago when I had the album so I think it's fantastic. I think I like all of Glad's accapella songs.

  • Does anyine know anything about the lyrical changes, I find it hard to believe that it rhymes in Luther's medievel German and in modern english?

  • The lyrics are the standard ones used in most Protestant churches, with the exception of the omission of "King Jamesie" word endings.

  • bobwaters:

These are not "King Jamesie" word endings, they are perfectly good English. Or hast thou never read or heard Shakespeare?

I'm glad that GLAD chose to sing all four verses of this great hymn. I have noticed lately that in almost every rendition I hear on my local Christian radio station, the third verse is omitted, which betrays a lack of care for the meaning of the song. Since the fourth verse continues where the third leaves off, omitting the third ruins the meaning of the fourth.

  • "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." (Psalm 14:1)

  • I love the original and I also love your modern rendition. It's so so so beautiful! Praise God for such great worship music. And I'm Lutheran so I really appreciate Martin Luther having penned this song himself! :-))) Peace with you all.

  • DID YOU FORGET SOMETHING?

The Seventh Day is the Sabbath.

    gen 2:1-3

    exo 20:8-11

    matt 28:1

Jesus is coming soon and this is a sign!

  • Romans 14:5

"One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind."

  • yes but im not the one who esteemed this day. God did.

"Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God."

    Exodus 20:8-10

  • "the sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath"~mark 2:27

  • the Sabbath was made for man. So obey the 4th commandment and remember it to keep it holy.

  • To quote Luther's explanation of the Third Commandment (your Fourth), "We should fear and love God that we may not despise preaching and His word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it."

As the Apostle points out in Col. 2, there is no

requirement that we celebrate a specific day as a Sabbath in the NT. In fact, we are forbidden to insist upon it, or to permit others to insist that we observe one.

  • It's only the third commandment if you use the Catholic version, which leaves out the 2nd commandment prohibiting idolatry, presumably because they are too much in love with their images.

  • Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.-- Col. 2:16-17

  • Many days are esteemed by the Jews and other religions, but only one day is esteemed special by God, and presented as one of the ten commandments. The sabbath is not just Jewish, it exists for all of us as a memorial of the seventh day of creation, when God rested. To discard it as just another day is to despise the Lord's day. (Mark 2:28, "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.") Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

  • @ccoraxfan lol the reference led to a link of the time for the video.

  • Have a Happy Sabbath!!

  • @ccoraxfan You comment is corect to an extent seeing as later in the new testement paul wrote to the effect of what ever day the church chose would be holy i think it is in romans but don't pin me down on it. besides "God is a not a man that he should lie" and he said "he inhabbits the praises of his people" "where two or three are gathered in my name there I am in there midst"

All qoutesw are a close approxomation and can be found in the bible probably new testament.

  • I really like this rendition thanks for the great video to go with the great music!

  • I have to learn this song for my world history class, and I've been using this to study! Beautiful peice!!!!

  • omgsh so do i! xD

  • I prefer the original, but yours is still very awesome.

    your brother in Christ

  • This video is amazing, this song is totally awesome the way they revamped it. Thanks for posting.

  • Great song, creative video... just one comment. The words in the third verse are "his rage we can endure", not "his rays". I get a little laugh imagining rays coming from Satan... well, after all, he was the "son of the morning"... :-)

  • from one calvinist to another...THANK YOU! I enjoy the contemporary version of this song as well as the original too. Happy Reformation Day!

  • PRAISE THE LORD, boy, what an inspirational, spine tingling song and video. I love to listen to this and other Christian videos, when I'm feeling down or depressed or need a pick me up. Jesus Christ IS the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Romans8:1, Romans8:18, Romans8:28, Romans8:35-39. Thanks for posting this video. It is definitely one of my favorites. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. Amen.

  • Glad you liked it :)

  • @phillypizzasteaksub1 Actually, an oversimplification of scripture. Ultimately Jesus says we are saved by GRACE. Furthermore, in 1John 4:16 it is written, "God is Love. ANYONE who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in him." No interpretation necessary on that one.

  • @phillypizzasteaksub1 However, anyone who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in him, because we are saved by Grace (1 John 4:16) and performance of the Works of Mercy (Matthew 25 31-46). Praise God.

  • I wish people wouldn't mess around with the tune of great hymns like this.

  • I take it then that you didn't like the video :-(

  • It's ok, but I think the tune was better the way it was.

  • @YoungCalvinist08 I enjoyed it tremendously! Martin Luther would have be proud to hear this beautiful hymn done with such joy and vigor.

  • The tune is different but not bad. The song is just as powerful. Even the traditional rendition has been changed over the years, you might not even like the older versions, but they are still just as effective. I appreciate the distinct (and these days, sadly unusual) lack of a rock band.

  • Great words of truth describing the spiritual battle taking place on our earth and in our lives! Sure reminds me of the hope and joy I have in the coming of Christ! Truly a song of praise!
