If you are on the 4.0.0 or 4.0.2 Firmware you can still jailbreak your ipod touch ••there is no catch•• on your ipod touch (must be 3rd gen mc model)

I tried to jailbreak my 2nd gen ipod touch NON MC model on my mac and it worked fine up until the very end when it was finally done. I went to open Cydia for the first time and it told me it was "Reorganizing, will automatically close when done". when it finally finished, I had many apps that were missing from my home screen, some of them were iTunes, App store, Music, Videos, Pictures, and Cydia. They were all missing and there was no way for me to access any of those apps. Please help.

for evryone who dosent know if it is mc or mb you go to settings them about and look until you find model and the first 2 letters is it if you have mc do not jailbeak this way click the thing to go to his othervidio and it willl work if you dont have 2nd gen

If in the model section yours says MC at the beginning the jailbreak will not work until they update it.

@guitargod1981 thats called a teathered jailbreak, Ipod 3g, then maybe it will be a teathered jailbreak. Try it, it wont hurt it, if it does that, and you dont like it, you can always unjailbreak i, by just restoring it :)

This is bullshit. It works fine for everyone else except me. I restore my ipod i have everything downloaded and do EVERYTHING just like everyone else and redsn0w gives me a message saying unable to recognize specified ipsw. I was forced to upgrade my ipod since my songs wasn't syncing with itunes. Fuck this shit.

Thanks for this! Worked perfectly, but the dl for iPod Touch 2G(NON-MC) iOS 4.0 Firmware doesnt work as it should. It uses a file that is 314 MB which doesnt work but the one that u used which was 308 MB worked.
