yeah ive heard that too. frank herbert(the writer), hated metal and wouldnt let them do it. its still a great song and i hope they play it live again soon

dude...i think he was dead by then. im almost sure it was his agent or his son(he writes the most recent dune books) said no but im not sure

Nope. The album came out in 1983. Herbert passed in 1986. IIRC, Herbert himself told the band NO, and was very snotty about it.
Bruce even mentioned it at various live shows, available on bootleg.
Shame.
