What a beautiful song! It does have some "oddities", for instance the sax at 3:09 maybe at 3:45, but who cares, it should have been released. Great sound on this one too, great job gav002!
This is a great attempt at a full version of the never released Abba song but it is actually the 2 minute snippet that has been released cleverly looped twice
When the 80s crept in, ABBA's dress sense just semt to get more and more dowdier - ha ha. Did they think because we are getting older we have to dress down? The 80s clothes were a million miles away from their funky creations they had in the 70s. Still love em either way tho.
love the sax !!! wish they had given us fans that final album I loved their music in my humble opinion they were the best band ever no1 Abba no 2 Queen No 3 Sparks
Initially earmarked for the unfinished Opus 10 Album, this single wasn't the completed article, hence the repeated chorus over and over. However, if this title had been finished it surely would have been one of ABBA's best numbers. Parts of this song were reworked into the single Under Attack, listen carefully and you will recognise which bits.
@treboryarg1 By the time the sax overdubs were done and it was mixed, all parts of Under attack had gone, so they cant be heard in this mix. For anyone familiar with the track, search for the Just like that demos, the under attack parts are on them. Also Opus 10 is a complete myth. There were plans for an album in1982, but by the time JLT was recorded, plans had changed. Opus 10 was a title given by a Swedish journalist about The Visitors album in 1981. as it was their 10th inc compilations.
Listening to this track, and "I am the City," "You Owe me one," and others, makes me sad that the post-Visitors album never saw the light of day. It would have been another masterpiece.
I did this looped version back in November 1994, I sent it out to a few friends & now years later it is being used by so many fans. At the time it was so difficult to edit CD tracks, not like now, back then I took all day to get the "edit" right so it didn't jump or sound weird.
@jugiguardia Wrong....Agnetha is in the chorus line as per.....The "Just Like That" 'snippet' released in 1994 revealed the chorus of the track only, and not only did it include an unmistakenly shared vocal by Agnetha and Anni-Frid, but also a saxophone solo by Raphael Ravenscroft, who worked on Gerry Rafferty's hit "Baker Street" in 1978
never heard this song , thought i new them all. its great its like they have relesed a new song . abba just simple there the best group ever . glad i was born to hear them . frida i will marry you now.
Very great song of such supergroup as ABBA. Why not to release it as a single in the future. Many thanks for their wonderful music that lasts forever !
The beautiful blending of Agnetha's and Anna's voices and the harmony by the boys is so great that it is no surprise that they still have followers around the globe.
"he walked into my house as smug as a cat, he was handsome and smart, walked away with my heart"....at once you can hear this is a really great song! :D I did, and still I love this song lol ^^
Yeah, and it was finally released by a duet - I think - called Gemini. But their version has nothing to do with this orchestration and is slower. Don't really like te.
@willbres1 you should check out the version which has more verses to it. Fantastic. Sadly, Benny and Bjorn felt this song was not ready for public consumption so it remained 'a work in progress'. Parts of it were then used in the single UNDER ATTACK.
One of ABBA's many great songs. They were such a talented group in writing and composing music, and performing. No wonder they were one of the most successful groups in the world.
ABBA would have had another number 1 hit had they released 'Just Like That' in 1982. 'Just Like That' would have stormed straight to the top of the charts.
Benny & Bjorn don't you think that it is time 'Just Like That' was allowed to see the light of day and give us fans what we have wanted since 1982 before you split in 1983.
as a gay man.loved abba from the start in 1974.never had a single erotic feeling for B & B.Odd.Stayed because of these girls. They are my teenage-dream.Why the hell that is Idont know!
ABBA was my therapist thru a childhood riddled with abuse and neglect and confusion. Now,30 years later I can listen and look back and forgive and forget and love my parents. Thank you ABBA!!
ABBA was, is, and will be one of the greatest EVER! I'm eternally in debt to them for the joy and happiness their music has brought to my life. They are one the classiest and most talented artists of the XX Century. LONG LIVE THEIR MUSIC! LOVE YOU, ABBA, ALWAYS!!! THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!!!!
There's also a version recorded by the Swedish group Gemini...a brother and sister who I think have worked a lot together with some of the ABBA members (e.g. in Chess). Not nearly as good as the original, but worth a listen.
It's mind-boggling to think that this was a song they shelved! I remember reading the 'liner notes' for this track in the big "everything but the kitchen sink" ABBA collection. If just the chorus and bridge are this good, imagine what the whole song would've sounded like! IF only, if only...
Like this song too!!! I have to say i really like atleast 80% of the songs they have released. The reason why this group was so successful was the catchy writing styles of Bjorn and Benny complemented by melodious vocals from Frida and Agnetha

As fantastic as this chorus is, it's only half
of the song in the superior 'Na Na' version. Agnetha's na na's are soul-
shattering. I believe that if they had put
the two versions together and let Bjorn
do his usual magnificent job
arranging and mixing it, 'Just Like That'
would have outsold Bing Crosby's 'White
Christmas' ( No. 1 of all time ).

I understand this sax version is going to be released by Benny and Bjorn sometime in the future. Has anyone heard anything about that. It's a great song. It needs to be released.
