From the "Cosmo's Factory" Lp,issued in 1976 as a peace offering gone wrong by Paul Zantz....Fogerty sued for liabillity, with the rest of CCR on Zantz's side! It soured John so that he Estranged himself from his brother Tom..He died before he'd mended his relationship..John even refused to appear on stage at the band's HOF induction!
Growing up in the '60s, I heard Gladys Knight and the Pips do this song, as well as Marvin Gaye's version, but CCR really knocked my sox off with their version. I'd never heard anyone hit the drums as hard as Doug Clifford does; that rhythm, that moderately-fast rock tempo seems to be My Tempo; I could listen to this kind of music all day. The song actually charted on our local station; it made the singles charts in 1970, when it wasn't a Single, just an album track!
Mean cover of a superb song

Did everyone else here also play this song three times in a row? Thumbs up if you did! RIP Marvin. Keep on rockin', John!

One of the few classic covers that definately outshines the original.
