  • hi im a park rider what bord is good for me?

  • Hey there helpful person that will answer me !

I just broke my 2009 operator 154wide. loved it and I'm extremely pissed I f**cked it up.

So I thought of going with the 2010 157wide. I ride all mountain, mostly freestyle though. Anyways the 2009 was just perfect. Should I go with the 2010 or is there a lot of differences ?

(I'm 185cm and 71 kgs, so that's like 6 feet and 156.5 pounds, my feet are 11, so should I go with the 157wide ?)

    Thank you !

  • @deadnremain Hey, I'm 6'1 175 and 11.5 foot size. This year I still ride the Operator, I ride a slightly smaller size because I mainly park and I did not go with the wide. If you are all-mountain I'd just go with the 158 regular. Surprisingly I had the chance to ride both and I could tell you I had no problems with the 156 and went with it. So just pick it based on what you want to do, either the 156 and up regular will fit 11.5!

  • @JustAnotherDisguise Hey thanks for the fast reply. I like my board short too since I mostly do park (the 2009operator I just broke was the 154W, which some guys at the park even considered too small for my height, that's why I thought of going with the 157wide).

Since you tested both, is there a reallly noticable difference between the 156 and the 158 ?

  • As for the wide or non-wide choice, I'm just scared that my heels or toes will touch the snow in sharp turns, I'll try and find the waist width of the 156 non-wide (maybe you can tell me) and see if it's wide enough compared to my old board ( 254mm and it was peeerfect) and the 157wide (256mm, so I'm guessing 2mm more won't change anything really will it ?).

Thanks a lot, appreciate your help, kinda low on money and changing board was sadly really not planned ! (RIP, she was so good to me <3)

  • @JustAnotherDisguise Hey maybe it's because you "duck" more your feet than me (I'm 15 and -15 degrees on my bindings.) because the 156 waist width seems to be 246mm and this sounds hella small for me so I'm pretty sure I'll go for the 157wide.

Just one last question about the feel/softness/stiffness or however it's called, my 2009 board was had a feel of 4/10, which I like, but I see online that some people say the 2010 is kind of a stiff board... I'm pretty sure it'll be perfect but confuses me

  • @deadnremain WIth the EST bindings it's amazing. If your running the EST setup you won't notice it except for the fact it will pop more and where you face the board it will go. It's not forgiving but with the EST bindings it feels smooth as hell.

  • the board is so fuckin sick !!

  • got this board a while ago with Burton Triad bindings and had it for a long trip in Japan. Absolutely loved it!!!!

  • I tried the Burton Operator 158 2010 in Les Arcs, France in December 2009.

I loved the board. I weigh 70 kg, length 177m. Off piste it performed better than a 2010 157 reversed camber board from K2The board is fast and offers a lot of control, allowing more radical tricks. On steep black slopes with bumps and through the trees I felt more confident than ever. Control, fun, playfull. And I haven't even tried it in the park, yet. Picked one up last week for 380 euros. I just had to have it.

  • Good review. Nice points. Pipe and jumps board.

  • The borad is the best

  • Im looking to by a new snowboard i go off quite a few jumps and like to go pretty fast done the hill should i get the 09 hero, the 2010 custom or this? im a wide if that would affect it please respond

  • custom

  • @mitchandchristian: I bought this board with the cartel EST bindings and absolutely love it! Both 2010 models. My neighbor bought the Hero and wished he went with the operator. I'm a jump and pipe guy and hit rails every so often so if your like me I recommend it. I ride 10 degrees for both feet and with a 11.5 boot the 156 non-wide is perfect!

  • @JustAnotherDisguise Hey man, can you have a look at the message I posted on this video ?

I ask to you specifically because you say 156non-wide is perfect.

My feet are 11, maybe 11,5. I used to ride the 2009 operator 154wide but broke it and am thinking of going on the 2010 157wide (I'm 185cm and 71 kgs, so that's like 6 feet and 156.5 pounds) don't you think the 157wide would be better ? (i'm scared the 156non-wide won't be wide enough but you have the same feet so I'm confused)

    Thanks !

  • I own and ridden both the Hero and Custom. Hero is good for smaller kicker style jumps in the park. Also very good on rails and boxes, easier to go sideways. I saw an improvement. But if you go down a large slope, it's hard to control.

The Custom is much better at going down fast hills. And I think it would do better on bigger jumps where you'll have a hard landing. I've done big jumps with Hero, but there's less cushion when falling high up.

  • hey im lookin to get that board how much did u get it for???

  • i got it for 450 euro's

  • i got a 158 operator 09 make, love this board, picked mine up for 240 english in two seasons store in april.best board i have had

  • hey i need some help.

ive been riding a crappy m3 board for two years and im thinking of upgrading.

im looking at the burton 09 operator but idk if its right 4 me.

i do everything, jumps, rails, bowls, etc.

and im looking for a good all around board for everything, lightweight, lots of pop, but also good for black diamonds,

im an experienced rider and i was wondering if this board is right for me or can u suggest something?

im around a $300 dollar budget.

    PLZ HELP!!!

  • check your inbox I sent you a message about this board

  • @PortersLars same here send me a review plz in my inbox

  • dont get a burton.....

  • lol look at 09 stuff since ur on a low budget dont need to look at any 2010 boards

  • The Burton Operator is an excellent all mountain board, I have a 2006 Shaun white board, but it is almost the same, i love riding it anywhere, and itll be much cheaper now that it is from last year, but if you dont have one already you might have to buy burton bindings, so there might be a little investment, but you can just get last year's stuff, so it might work for you

  • is there going to be an Operator Smalls board like there was in '09?

  • yes there will be however they changed the name back to the Shaun White Smalls

  • how do you get all those board like one year before they come out?

  • demos

  • NO WAY YOU GOT IT!!!!

I WANT THAT BOARD SOOOOOO BADLY ITS MY NEXT BOARD (hopefully)

oh and does it come in the regular 3D binding mounts sytem (i don't like the ICS system)

  • sorry but next years comes with ICS no 3d available

  • kk

    that sucks

but how did u get it so early?
