  • primohomme, what do you think of Jennifer loosing so much weight? I was so suprised..even more suprised to see her taking soprano arias. I have to get used to this new person. She had such a pretty face before, and a lovely hair. Ohh and her instrument is so rare.

  • The beginnning was not good.. that high B flat sucked.. What made this horrible singer, think she could do this role? and who the hell would be interested in seeing /hearing her in this.. Does this sound like Juliet ( a 16 year old girl)? Hell no! And her English articulation is like all her languagues mush! Sorry.. I have never had any use for this woman.. She sucks in mezzo and in soprano.. I guess that makes her a soprano suckato.

  • @leonardovittori1

Larmore is a very capable singer, her voice may not be to your taste but she sings well in tune and with correct agility, of course she does not come off as a nightingale but as an attack bulldog in this aria, but in things that fit her voice better she is a wonderful singer, for example her album "Bravura Diva" which contains some of the most difficult music written for the 19th century divas with a sort of "mezzo" middle-low voice and soprano extension.

  • @primohomme My problem with Larmore.. is the same one i have with Joan S.. yes.. they can handle things vocally. And that IS saying something.. But their articulation and interpretation and choices are not very good. Can you imagine Olivia Hussey In Zefferelli's great film.. lip synching to Larmore's version of this aria? I can't .. This character should have an innocence that goes with kids who have not had much experience with falling in love or sex.

  • @kgarmaker123 You honestly think that, in general, she's a poor actress/interpreter? Have you watched her Rosina on DVD? Listened to her Julius Caesar? In her home turf, she's an incredible performer, on every front.

I wouldn't say she really gets Juliette's character here, but come on, it was a surprise treat thrown in at the end of a recital disc. She's just showing off and having fun. I wish people would take context into account before they begin to criticize.

  • ingolataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • It's actually a couple keys lower than the original. It's still impressive, though I wish she had sung it in French. weh weh.

  • @evilfreckle53

No, you are WRONG, it is in the same key as sung by for example Natalie Dessay.

  • @primohomme Whoops! My bad. Serves me to not check my sources correctly, haha

  • I love it!!! she is amazing and in the picture she looks really nice.

Tough I don't like it very much in english she sang it perfectly!!!! =)

  • Is she singing this aria in English ??? It never sounds great in a language other than the original. She does have a beautiful voice and I love Jennifer Larmore. Brilliantly done.

  • I guess this means she's sung contralto, mezzo, AND soprano rep.

  • Yes, although you know, very often the big bel canto dramatic coloratura roles break the borders...such as with Rossini's Elisabetta that she has sung.

  • i wish i was a coloratura so i could sing this!!

  • Haha, OMG, this was unexpectedly good, wow, I love it. :)
