I live in central NJ,i did a search on autotrader and found one...but its 1.5 hrs away...ack...these cars are hard to find. It's an 07 with 30,000 miles...the price is 18,888. If its still available in 1 week i might try and finance it,my nissan 240sx is horrible with gas mileage...im sure i'll be able to sell it really fast since its a nice project car.whats the average price these cars go for? i might try and lower it to 16,000 perhaps.
If only they would have also offered a 2-door version based on the EX Coupe mated to a 6 speed manual, it would have been more appealing as a high performance hybrid.
I really like mine. I bought mine in April 08 as a left over, probably the last one in the country. Since it was a left over, I got it for $27K even. That means I paid a little more than a regular V6 Accord would have gone for.
I have 13K miles on mine with a combined avg of 29.7mpg. On flat highways averaging 70mph, I have gotten as high as 38mpg over the course of a full tank.
These hybrids harbor the best kept secret in the auto industry. The massive battery array is slated to last about 100k miles. Then you are on the hook for BIG $. With that and the up-front cost these cars are not as economical, long term, as they would have us believe...
Gee, I guess the world owes you a debt of gratitude for being so intelligent as to discover this "best kept secret". Now while I would agree that hybrid car battery packs are expensive, if you look at what direction the price is trending on these batteries and extrapolate that 100K miles down the road... it doesn't look so bad. A hybrid car is a technological stepping stone to an all electric car which WILL be coming to a car lot near you sooner than you think.
For every technological achievement that science has brought us throughout human history, there have been MANY naysayers scoffing the very idea of change or departure from the status quo. I wonder what it was like to be around when horse and buggy was a primary means of personal transportation... and suddenly these newfangled "horseless carriages" started showing up everywhere?! And people were like "hey, the best kept secret in the world is that those things aren't economical down the road!"
your full of c**p. I have gotten 38mpg over full tanks in straight highway driving. Combined in hilly new england over 13K miles I average 29.7. Do you even own one?
It cost so much more than the regular Accord, yet was weaker and only got 2 miles per gallon more than the regular Accord. That's BS about the numbers they gave in the beginning, look on the fueleconomy site
@jcm1883 I think the same reason why GM stopped producing EV-1 - it's just too good for people to have a maintenance-free vehicles. The best source of revenue comes from subscriptions. In case of cars, it's the gas prices.
Honda is Ten Years behind Toyota in Hybrid Technology Design. This car is outdated. not only in look, but in the way the Hybrid system works. This car is not even a "Full Hybrid" it's what is known as a fake hybrid, or Stop/Start Hybrid. Not interested. Toyota Made it's Prius Full Hybrid back in 1997. Now ten years latter they lead the industry and capture more than 70% of the Hybrid Market.
toyotas prius is to hondas insight. civic hybrid is to...nothing. accord hybrid is to camary hybrid. not sure..but i think in the CAR section- hondas on top:)
You do realize that Toyota never came up with the idea of Hybrid in the first place? Besides, why do you care so much? I have a Honda Accord and I like it FARRRRR better than the puffed up Camry.

This is what hybrids should be like.
This car actually has a standard automatic transmission, so you do GET GEARSHIFTS, instead of one annoying engine tone.

i think the reason why they stopped was the fact that the new model became a PZEV (partial Zero emission vehicle)
like a hybrid like car
becides there are better, cheaper and better types of hybrids that might be better for your wallet.
