  • Just curious as to what you think about Jesus being spelled IESUS in the 1611 version ? Whats the explanation for that ?

  • I have not read the first Edition of the 1611 KJV so I have not seen that. Or are you saying that all editions spelt Jesus IESUS every time and all of the time up until up until a certain time?

Either way, To the Jews, (inc Mary & Joseph) He was called Yeshua, in the Greek Texts of the NT he is called IESOUS and in English it is pronounced JESUS. I would have to see the text in context to understand. But does it take away of Who Jesus is and that He IS the Only Way to Salvation?

  • @PhilipMarcTrivett From what i gather it was spelled that way in the 1611 only, but not sure. Some people are making a big deal about it but it doesnt really bother me. I noticed many words were different in the 1611 compared to later editions, Well, not really different words but looks misspelled like King James couldnt spell good or something. If someone is new to Jesus they may get confused if they see IESUS. Most of us know its JESUS, but what about new Christians?

  • @mbhotie715 Well, if you meet a non-Christian who throws this at you, I would ask them to show me a copy of the 1611 bible where that happens. Then if you have one, show a copy from more recent times (I have one about 100 years old at home) or compair on the internet an electronic version and ask "SO WHAT?"

Also English has changed alot since when the KJV was 1st written. It is that type of language!

  • @mbhotie715 as for new Christians, it would be easy to explain and would only be an issue for an English speaking believer. and once born-again, I think the Holy Spirit would give them peace about it and encourage them to eat The Word so much that it will just spur them to study deeper. I know that the day after I was filled with the Holy Spirit, it would have bounced off me like a cotton ball!

  • @mbhotie715 my advice would also be to say...if someone suddenly threw a question like this to you would be to not let it throw you but say "thanks, I've not seen/heard that before. can you give me more details and I'll go check it out myself. later? then you put the ball in their court to provide evidence. (They bare the claim and bare the burdon!) Also ask what it suggests to them (So What?) because you'll see the spin they are putting on it. you might know enough to counter the spin anyway!

  • Do NOT associate with those given to Change! The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom. Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty! Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people -Proverbs FEAR NOT

  • KJV Onlyists only know how to interpret Scripture allegorically. VERY few have any concept of sound, orthodox interpretation. They conveniently ignore historical context and jump right to wrongheaded and ludicrous applications.

  • I understand completely. Believe me I do. All we can do is pray for the Lord to change hearts and minds.

  • Do we realize how much confusion we cause when the world sees that we can't even agree on the Word of God? Are we blind to the fact that this whole argument over which translation is true and right is a trick, a deception brought by the enemy to sow discord among the Church? Jesus says "a house divided cannot stand"...Time is too short for us to be exerting our energy on ANYTHING other than being about our Father's business, and that's allowing Him to use us to seek and save the lost.

  • Firstly I heartily agree, we should be focused on Jesus and doing the Father's work. But in this video, I responded to a scripture that I believed was missapplied. But these kind of people are saying we must only use 17th Century English to lead people to Christ.

  • It is funny but I have met so many ULTRA KJV suporters on You Tube Who actually try and disarm poeple like me by saying we don't need the Hebrew or Greek texts. This MUST be noted: The JW's before they did their own New WOrld Translation of the Bible of which they had no greek or hebrew scholars to compile, they used THE KJV. Why? because they could twist peoples lack of understanding of the Old English. That is one reason whay we need Mondern English Language Bibles!

  • And as for the scholars involved in the Dead Sea Scrolls they havebeen more in awe of how God has prserved the inspired texts of the Bible, The original Hebrew! 10 spelling differences between the Hebrew book of Isaiah found in the DSS and that which the KJV translaters used. But the words meant the same things. There was a 1,300 year difference BUT the faithfulness of the copying shows GOD is faithful. But does not show the KJV is better or Divine over modern translations!

  • Curious enough, the translators of the NIV Bible thought it best to remove 64,000 keywords , some of those words were quotations from Jesus Christ himself. Also removing over 17 versus like Mark 15 -- 28 why? Who Benefits from this deception ? Satan? Or God? There is many more egregious errors visit my channel you'll see for yourself stonecutter 1213

  • Ok just watched one of your videos in KJV vs Modern Translations. Very good comments BUT what does the Greek say? Are the older manuscripts qouted from? What is the Context of these word differences? If Jesus said "The Father" I would know he meant The Father in Heaven. And comparing the NIV to the NWT is a shocking error when you lack the context! I have debated muslims, defending the KJV for verses that are not in the more abundant and older Greek Manuscripts.

  • 1947 a young man noticed a cave high on a mountain, and in that gave there were several earns or vessels which contained the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Scholars laid down, side by side the King James version, authorized version mind you, with the Dead Sea Scrolls and for all intents and purposes was a complete match don't get hung up on the small stuff, focus on the finish line

  • listen my friend, we are not saying that the KJV is not a good translation but the finds of older manuscripts from both Greek and Hebrew do allow translaters to sharpen God's word for us today. They did not find the complete Old Testement but that they did find showed the faithfullness of the reproduction of THE HEBREW texts which is one of the 3 INSPIRED texts of the Bible. Any translation MUST be measured against that, not another Translation.

  • You are right on point with this. Jesus spoke in parables because he wished his followers to ask the meaning. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

(Luke 11:9) When the dispiples asked about this parable, Jesus said: And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

    (Mark 4:11)

Mysteries are revealed if we ask.

  • Jesus also spoke in parables so (regarding "those who are without") "That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."

  • That's right. I did a video on this which can be found on my channel.

  • Looking forward to viewing it:)

  • You say get a 1611 KJV Bible. Have you tried reading a 1611 KJV Bible?

I bet you don't even have a "1611" KJV Bible in your procession. The Bible that you think is a 1611 KJV Bible is in fact a 1789 revision of the KJV Bible.

Here is the 1611 Psalm 23:

The LORD is my fhepheard, I fhall not want. He Maketh me to lie downe in greene paftures: he leadeth mee befide the ftill waters. He reftoreth my foule: He leadeth me in the paths of righteoufnes, for his names fake.

    (cont)

  • Psalm 23 in the 1611 KJV cont:

Yea though I walke through the balley of the fhadorbe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me, thy rod and thy ftaffe, they comfort me. Thou prepareft a table before me, in the prefence of mine enemies: thou anoineteft my head with oyle, my cuppe runneth ouer. Surely goodnes and mercie fhall follolbe me all the daies of my life: and I will drbell in the houfe of the LORD foreuer.

  • Very good, I thought you were serious for a moment! LOL.

  • I am being serious.

  • Then you will know the link that this video is a reply to, you have got to post it on that page! They have not responded to me either mind so I don't feel they'll view this video or your comment.

    Thanks

  • nobody that screams the 1611 kjv is the only one to use actually uses the 1611 , specially not the protestants that do, because the 1611 include the apocrypha and used Iesus for jesus.

  • I haven't heard a single person who advocates this false dogmatism respond with anything intelligent. I wouldn't hold my breath.
