Setting Up The Novation Remote SL for Use with FL Studio 8

thank you sooooo much mate... i'm searching the hole youtube for a vid like this. i'm using fl9 and want to get the sl mk2 49 and had some questions, but your vid showed me almost all answers i had :) the linking with the two filters on two differents channels in the mixer with the same knobs on the remote at 8:40 does this works on 3rd vst's too? and very important for me.when i save and close the project and re-open it, are the settings still existing?? can i use it with windows 7 64bit? thx

Very good vid.I've got some questions , maybe someone can help me i've got fl studio 9 , i arrived to link controls to my novation , but it doesn't recognize my vst (vanguard which is in the template) the transport buttons of novation is recognize on fl but when i turn the program button it doesn't change preset sound of the vst but change the channels of fruity.There is no temples for fruity on my novotion like said dizzymunk.

Thanks for the tutorial, just bought a ReMOTE 37SL and this tutorial is huge help. To the poster below, you can use the Remote SL editor to change setting names if they are things you are always going to use (like his filter example).

I sorted it out, you have to download the Template editor from the Novation site and then upload the FL Studio template to the Remote SL through the editor. You can download the template from thier site as well. No respect for FL Studio users as usual I guess they erased it from the original 40 templates

Hello thanx for clear vid I just bought th Zero SL and updated with latest templates and #33 is Logic 7 Apple. Have they changed everything? I cant find FL Studio in any of the 40 templates!!! What can I do?

Yes. You can control third-party VSTs using either custom templates or Automap. The only difference between the Zero and the other ReMote SLs is the number of keys they have.

I've watched your video several times but can't seem to get my template working right. I appreciate you doing this video, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Sometimes I've gotten it to work partially, like the transport (except the loop button), but the other automaped controlls don't seem to work. I really am clueless at this point. Maybe I'm just ranting because I've been at it for a few days now. The template on 33 is just called user. When I updated the template it says automap now.

It sounds like the latest set of templates are not loaded onto your SL. You should be able to find a template labeled FL Studio at #33. The template labeled User is there for you to create your own custom template without overwriting one of the default templates. If you're having trouble uploading templates with the template editor, you could run the latest ReMote SL installer from Novation's website.

Hard to compare the two controllers. Remote SL (unless you get the Zero version) has really nice keys. All versions also have 8 finger pads, X-Y touch controller and pitchbend/mod wheel joystick. The BCF 2000 has motorized faders, endless rotaries (SL has 8 of those too) and no keys. I love the BCF for controlling the mixer in FL Studio. I love my Remote SL for controlling VST instruments and FX plug-ins. I wouldn't want to be without either one. Good combo.

You should be able to. It has worked for all of the midi controllers I have tried it with, but I have not tried it with the axiom.
