Most airlines (maye all?) require shades to be UP during takeoff/landing so that in case of emergency, FA's and passengers can assess outside conditions before evacuation (you wanna step out on a burning wing?)
i flew to cyprus lst year and i was sooo bored it was like 2 am and we landed at 6 am and i jus couldnt sleep cus i was right next to the wings and it was so loud! .
and i was juss bored out of my head and my ears kept goin funny lol and i was jus tired and annoyed lol but it was a good holiday though !. we always fly from gatawick x
Aer Lingus are opening a new hub at gatwick in April. They will base 4 Airbus 320 aircraft and fly to Malaga , Faro , Nice , Zurich ,Munich ,Vienna , Ireland west Knock and Dublin. !
I love landing at Gatwick so much to see from the channel onwards.
I once was on a flight back from Alicante and we flew over Lingfield Park racecourse (horseracing) at exactly 3.01pm now as a racing fan the next day on ATR I watched the reply of the racing and actually heard our plane going over during the 3.00 race. It's right on the flight path a few miles from Gatwick so if you are a racing fan and love planes..then you get the best of both worlds there.
I also love landing at gatwick because i land there loads and i have flew from london gatwick much more than any other airport like heathrow, birmingham or stansted. My main memorable landings at Gatwick have been Rhodes in 2006 and 2007 and palma de majorca but palma de majorca and rhodes in 2006 were night landings which were great but landing at lgw in 2007 from rhodes was even better because of the taxiway when we touched down was really busy in the daytime. I flew with Monarch and my travel
Yeah I always fly from Gatwick or Stansted. Gatwicks further from my house, a 3 hour drive from Suffolk..ARGH xD
My best landing was 2008 from Dalaman Turkey,at 3am in the moring and it was so quiet and we collected our cases very fast lol. I flew with Thomas Cook.
Hey, yea me too, this video brings back alot of memories for me aswell. I remember landing at LGW, best time ever.. I really need to go back there.. thanks for putting this up man...
Excellent Landing, I Came In The Same Way Into Gatwick Facing The West When I Came Back From Faro Portugal On 9th November (2007) With Easyjet. Brilliant Landing ****

Nice to see you paid attention to the announcements about Not having electrical equipment running during take off and landing. Especially if thats a camera phone, which should not be on at any time during flight, even if it has 'flight mode'.
The airline i fly for uses ILS no matter what the conditions are untill clearance to land has been obtained and you are stable with gear down, Then the pilot goes visual, but the main approach is done using autopilot and then the ils, unless of course its a training flight
Pilots don't play Flight Simulator in their spare time! Looking at you're profile, you have one video that you have made. If you're a pilot maybe you should give everyone you're really name and they can check on the CAA site ;-) Happy landings.
Its ILS because its the best and safest way of landing and PIlots use it to land on every runway except ones that dont have ILS eg. TNCM, They will use VOR/DME instead.
Visual landing in most cases is still ILS, in all visual cases.. the pilot will still use ILS (glideslope) if avalible, i fly myself for British aiways, it may be different with other airlines.
I'm not speaking about the landing - anything other than a CAT IIIC approach will lead to a visual landing. However, there is nothing that requires an ILS while executing a visual approach.
Nah, there's no 09L at Gatwick!, there is 26L or 08R (same runway - either way in). In this case it's 26L as the M23 is under the approach. Certainly ILS though. Great video!.
haa im going to gatwick in a week

Astro777lover 4 years ago
Was this a GB Airways flight coz BA don't use A320's into LGW. They only use them for GB airways
steexc 4 years ago
Absolutely correct - BA operated by GB Airways (shortly to become Easyjet!)
clementsphil 4 years ago
I didn't know that. So will Easyjet inherit all the A32o's and A321's?

What's the PSI for the hydraulic systems of the A-320 series?
flywithlloyd 4 years ago
How do you know it's an ILS?
flywithlloyd 4 years ago
Its ILS because its the best and safest way of landing and PIlots use it to land on every runway except ones that dont have ILS eg. TNCM, They will use VOR/DME instead.
AnotherTornHeart 4 years ago
Best and safest? That's not necessarily true. It's just another approach.
That video was taken in perfect VFR conditions - why could it not have been a visual approach? Lots of pilots use those, too.
flywithlloyd 4 years ago
