  • haa im going to gatwick in a week

  • Coll I hate it when Ur landing because you,r ears hurt but then I like it when I'm in a differnr country

  • Most airlines (maye all?) require shades to be UP during takeoff/landing so that in case of emergency, FA's and passengers can assess outside conditions before evacuation (you wanna step out on a burning wing?)

  • That was a really smooth landing.

  • good shadow during the last few seconds as well

  • Awsome!!!! Great job!! Love it.

  • You captured a great view of the flaps and spiolers

  • great landing :)!

  • i love watching videos like this ! 5/5 x

  • arnt u ment to shut the window blinds?

  • No - what on earth for....?

You can't have the cabin lights on for night time take off or landing but blinds are fine open at any time

  • love you

  • @clementsphil You have to shut them if you go to Iraq or Afghanistan, so the plane can't be seen,.

  • @TheGeanMachine and who wants to go there geez

  • I love London Gatwick and British Airways... nice video.... 5/5

  • When you landed, that little kid was going "on the runwayyyyyy!"

    Lol

  • hahahaha yes in fact that kid said on the runwayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy LOOOOOL

  • Nice day for London....What I mean is its not raining!!!!!

  • Lol I agree, I got back from Sharm El Sheikh yesterday and the weather was horrible :(

  • That's true!

I can remember when I was in London I had days where it rained cats and dogs.

  • no more like nice day for west sussex londons about 12 miles away Gatwick isnt even in London even if its classed as a london airport

  • i flew to cyprus lst year and i was sooo bored it was like 2 am and we landed at 6 am and i jus couldnt sleep cus i was right next to the wings and it was so loud! .

and i was juss bored out of my head and my ears kept goin funny lol and i was jus tired and annoyed lol but it was a good holiday though !. we always fly from gatawick x

  • same here i couldnt sleep til we almost landed at lgw.

  • its good to touch the freen green grass.... of home

  • the man on the PA doesn't sound english at all! =}

  • wat aircraft and airline is that ??

  • It is an Airbus A320 operated by the now defunct GB Airways under the BA flag

  • i hate landing back in england it all looks so crappy, compared to other countries

  • i know what u mean i hate heathrow most

  • ive never been there, im up north so im always at Manchester, but maybe its me cos im British but Britain just looks so common from above.lol

  • ever landed at Heathrow?

you can see all of London..

  • Aer Lingus are opening a new hub at gatwick in April. They will base 4 Airbus 320 aircraft and fly to Malaga , Faro , Nice , Zurich ,Munich ,Vienna , Ireland west Knock and Dublin. !

  • Omg I think I'd flip out on a plane

  • ahh you wouldnt lol you die of boredom and earaches youd wanna flip out lol

  • I flew to Egypt a couple of years ago and it was 5 hours long. I was bored out my head, and my legs and ears kept going funny lol :D

  • I love landing at Gatwick so much to see from the channel onwards.

I once was on a flight back from Alicante and we flew over Lingfield Park racecourse (horseracing) at exactly 3.01pm now as a racing fan the next day on ATR I watched the reply of the racing and actually heard our plane going over during the 3.00 race. It's right on the flight path a few miles from Gatwick so if you are a racing fan and love planes..then you get the best of both worlds there.

  • I also love landing at gatwick because i land there loads and i have flew from london gatwick much more than any other airport like heathrow, birmingham or stansted. My main memorable landings at Gatwick have been Rhodes in 2006 and 2007 and palma de majorca but palma de majorca and rhodes in 2006 were night landings which were great but landing at lgw in 2007 from rhodes was even better because of the taxiway when we touched down was really busy in the daytime. I flew with Monarch and my travel

  • Yeah I always fly from Gatwick or Stansted. Gatwicks further from my house, a 3 hour drive from Suffolk..ARGH xD

My best landing was 2008 from Dalaman Turkey,at 3am in the moring and it was so quiet and we collected our cases very fast lol. I flew with Thomas Cook.

  • Where in Suffolk do you live Delicate283?

  • soft landing

  • sorry je i love Crawley!

  • i love Gatwick, it's a nice place!!

  • great vid i remember landing at lgw best vacation ever!!! i want to go back so bad

  • Hey, yea me too, this video brings back alot of memories for me aswell. I remember landing at LGW, best time ever.. I really need to go back there.. thanks for putting this up man...

  • great video!!beautiful what were you in?

  • Thanks - it was a GB Airways (BA) A320.

  • its not in london it in west sussex is gatwick :P

  • Excellent Landing, I Came In The Same Way Into Gatwick Facing The West When I Came Back From Faro Portugal On 9th November (2007) With Easyjet. Brilliant Landing ****

  • that was kind of a hard landing to me.

  • Was this a GB Airways flight coz BA don't use A320's into LGW. They only use them for GB airways

  • Absolutely correct - BA operated by GB Airways (shortly to become Easyjet!)

  • I didn't know that. So will Easyjet inherit all the A32o's and A321's?

  • Very nicely done, with excellent sound! :-)

  • what the hay, its proven that the mobile phone has no effect on the aircrafts equipment...but what they hay

  • No not a camera phone and the stewardess said that it was OK to use the video!

  • lol AnotherTornHeart is not a pilot

  • I didnt use google, only my knowlodge. It took me 12 hours as i do have a job to get passengers to there destination and sit on here all day...

  • The airline i fly for uses ILS no matter what the conditions are untill clearance to land has been obtained and you are stable with gear down, Then the pilot goes visual, but the main approach is done using autopilot and then the ils, unless of course its a training flight

  • Pilots don't play Flight Simulator in their spare time! Looking at you're profile, you have one video that you have made. If you're a pilot maybe you should give everyone you're really name and they can check on the CAA site ;-) Happy landings.

  • Your Google skills are good!Too bad it took you 12 hours to come up with the answers.

  • Yeah, I didn't really think that you'd be able to answer either of those.

  • I can 8000 for the Hydraulic and no we do not use the same headset...

  • Also, do you use the same headset on the 777 that you did on the 'Bus?

  • Very cool.

What's the PSI for the hydraulic systems of the A-320 series?

  • How do you know it's an ILS?

  • Its ILS because its the best and safest way of landing and PIlots use it to land on every runway except ones that dont have ILS eg. TNCM, They will use VOR/DME instead.

  • Best and safest? That's not necessarily true. It's just another approach.

That video was taken in perfect VFR conditions - why could it not have been a visual approach? Lots of pilots use those, too.

  • Visual landing in most cases is still ILS, in all visual cases.. the pilot will still use ILS (glideslope) if avalible, i fly myself for British aiways, it may be different with other airlines.

  • What equipment do you fly for British Airways?

I'm not speaking about the landing - anything other than a CAT IIIC approach will lead to a visual landing. However, there is nothing that requires an ILS while executing a visual approach.

  • I use to fly that A321-231, now i a 777-236ER

  • That's a airbus a321

  • It was an A320-232 G-TTOA....

  • Wonder wt approach the pilots did i think a ILS approach, on runway 09 left, nice landing aswell and thanks for posting the video! :)

  • Nah, there's no 09L at Gatwick!, there is 26L or 08R (same runway - either way in). In this case it's 26L as the M23 is under the approach. Certainly ILS though. Great video!.

  • and 26R or 08L if the emergency runway is being used!!

  • I really enjoy flying in and out of London Gatwick airport, so I really like this video.

  • hey great video like the cheeky shot peeking under the wing as it landed .Susiep.Wigan

  • Nice video. I like the shadow that creeps into the shot just before landing
