When I joined Scientology in Hollywood CA in the mid 80's. I thought I was taking courses to improve myself, not become a cash cow, as is what happened. I was in it long enough to discover that they are controlling, dishonest & all about bringing in the money from whomever is naive enough to believe they are there to improve the world. If you don't follow the strict rules, you are put into "ethics" where they attempt to convince you that you are a troublemaker. I stood up to them & left ASAP.
A sucker is born every minute, and if someone wants to buy in to Scientology -- both literally and figuratively -- well, then that's their own stupidity. But Scientology needs to have its tax-exempt status revoked. That would put an end to things very quickly.

Many atrocities were committed in the name of religion, but in an age when gruesome public executions were considered entertainment it was hardly out of the ordinary. Dr. Abrams was the only one to "cure" homosexuality. But the "cure" is only temporary. It does not involve psychology, but rather reversing the bodies polarity. It only lasts about 2 weeks then the bodies polarity switches back. After some time, the person may try it again..
