@s3xyath3ist I KNOW, right! Back before he lost it. Compare this to Song Remains The Same, pretty much anything from that time on, it's sad, but the strong POWERHOUSE voice you hear on the first and second albums is a mere shadow of itself from around that time till now. He was never the same. A DAMNED SHAME He "whines" around now...Wish they coulda fixed him with lazer surgery (Roth, Lauper, Coverdale..etc. have all "saved" their voices with surgery to remove the scars on their vocal chords)
This is awesome. I had to watch it twice. This is the greatest rock band of all time, at the very top of their game, to say nothing of the very cool little interview clips at the end. Thanks SO much for sharing
I loved this clip until I saw Germaine Greer's melon ... WTF ? Who was responsible for this Snake oil selling Feminist ass wipe appearing with the greatest rockers of the 20th century? Anyway I have calmed down now... Great clip thank you for posting it !
Is Plant wearing old scool vans!! They seem a lil amped here haha. I wonder if there was any drugs there hahahaha.....One dislike? Haha One to many=Dork
Plant was in good voice on this video. By 1973 he was having big trouble with the high notes, and always did from then on, at least live. But this was right on the money, like most early ones were.
@AJHans12 Said idiot should be tracked down, tarred, feathered, and forced to listen to LZ night and day until he/she finally comes to his/her senses.
Fantastic. There is no better version of this song done anywhere else. The band is certainly at it's prime! This is why they are the biggest influence in the world of rock. Plant never been so energetic anywhere else. Bonham sure prove that all you need is a regular set of drums to rock! Wished I saw this concert.
@tj4y9 don't get me wrong my favourite period is 69-73 .. I love the early days and Plants voice was always best pre 1973 to me. But as long as The Beast was on drums they were untouchable..not to mention my favourite guitarist and bass player...nothing against Plant but in my opinion he is the weak link if I had to pick one. I agree they were great no matter what.
@tj4y9 i believe Page might of been when he was with the Heroin. but PLant had a bad throat condition cause singers didnt know how to take care of there voices back then. and he got knodes on his vocal chords. but if his voice was always like this performance woulda been great
Only gentlemen of the finest calibre who sport brusk facial hair in the form of a moustache, beard (encompassing, but not limited to, the neck), or mutton chop, only these will be invited to party with Led Zeppelin.
@MrZoso187 this comes from Australian ABC television camera footage from 1972 and sorry, there aint no more. Bonham sound posh compared to us Aussies.
I'm really getting sick of seeing this twirp bieber's name under all the videos and songs i love. you dont automatically have to compare it to someone so insignificant. just enjoy.
I don't think that the group should disband , they must continue with a new drummer.Well , It didn't sound the same with great ol' Bonzo on drums, but they would be together after 40 years , just like Kiss , or Metallica , or even AC/DC ! :)
why the fuck are there all these comments about justin beiber on practically every Zeppelin video i look up? Yea, we get it; he is a hack and Jimmy Page is God. They are even in the same fucking category.
@FindingDoris I ahve a Zeppelin bootleg on which kieth moon is a guest , and he intruduces Bonhma as " the greateset fu#%ing rock and roll drummer in the world , Mr. John Bonham ..good enough for me ! @FindingDoris Yeah, I agree with that assessment. Ian Paice was a true motherfucker on drums..Often forgotten. Moon tended to "overplay" and not anchor the BEAT with all his "showing off" with too many fills. But that was his style, nothing wrong with it.

And though the first signs of Plant's voice slowly deteriorating date back to mid '71, where it became obvious to the attentive listener he couldn't hit those incredible high notes anymore the way he used to (though his voice was still strong), it really started worsening after the US tour in '72 when Plant underwent vocal cord surgery. After he caught an influenza in early '73 his voice never fully recovered to former glory.
@brennanloltehlol - dude I'm not saying u weren't @ Long beach in 1971- but (as Tokeiihto states) this gig was Sydney '72 - thats why @ 19-20 secs u see a 2SM banner above stage(local radio station that promoted gig) I was sitting in stands below cameras -17 years old & tripping off my scone on "clear light" - can't remember a thing from last half of show-hallucinations were so intense- 28000 fans had left venue half an hour B4 we even made it down the steps!
