meh. this trailer isn't as good as the first trailer with the Smashing Pumpkins song. When I first saw that preview watching the Dark Knight, I damn near shit myself. I had never heard of Watchmen b4 that and I was just stunned.

I hate to say it (trust me on that), but I think Zach Snyder is a toolbox and this movie is going to be mostly disappointing in his hands. I think it's going to be presented at a 14 year old boy's level, and it will be more concerned with looking "cool", than actually telling the story with anything resembling restraint or subtlety.

I am really disappointed in the hardcore fans who take themselves as watchmen purist and protest this movie. I have not been excited about a rated-R, heavy effects film since the first matrix. I haven't seen the movie so i don't know how much is missing. Note, the GN is not action oriented. But, being that its a GN you can read through it pretty fast. I say read it. Because it is the most adult comic out there. Very different. WANTED is pretty good, too. Lots of violence and nudity. Its a rated R comic. Both WANTED and WATCHMEN. You will get those, "What the fuck?" moments when you read them. So, yeah. Read them. Both!!

I guess to i meant to say as interesting an adult reader can be able to enjoy a comic. There are more comics out there that are adult oriented. Vertigo made sure of that. But to me the watchmen was significant. It was my time as a young reader to just stop reading shitty marvel comics. Like wanted was pretty good. It went places i thought no one would have to balls to go to. There are too many comics out there and hold meaning for individual people. And i did stop reading comics.

I'd buck the trend here and say, if you have not read the GN yet,(didn't know there was anyone left who'd not read Watchmen... amazing!) then don't bother until you've seen the movie, as the movie would only dissapoint you after reading such a seminal work by one of comics' greatest writers.

However, as a movie in it's own right, I'd say it looks pretty good and reading the book afterwards will give you an extra dimension and added depth to the story.
