Yeah. Theres actually a lot of different Seasonal Elemental concepts. For example, there's the "Missing Element" theory where the Season is attributed the Element that is not present in the Quadrent:

Well you know, my idea is kind of like yours except it replaces the seasons with the missing elements for the trinity of the elements, for example:
Gemini (water), Libra (fire), Aquarius (earth)
Cancer (earth), Scorpio (fire), Pisces (air)
Taurus (air), Virgo (fire), Capricorn (water)
Aries (air), Leo (earth), Sagittarius (water)
