@StreetandBabeShadow haha - well fuck knows that's is exatly what i would have been thinking if i were in that drummers place x).. IGGY IS SO FUCKING SEXY!!-loved his blue hair look as well as pretty much all of them over his many years in the bizz .& also loved how he then had to remain composer to continue the drum beat when it was his cue in the song by shaking his blonde hair like a dog with flees- & then going for it like a maniac :Di have a feeling they were all justa bit high during this
billy idol should be strung up for his cheek in covering this..the little twot..irony is pop fired off the bassist later in the tour for drug use..*sniggers*
@11CUPS13 Exactly. It's not anything universal or specific. If you want to think of punk as that shit from Hot Topic (which, IMO, was punk in the beginning but it's just a big joke now), that's fine, cause you're not listening to the grumpy crust punks who want you to conform to their view of punk instead of having your own.
I had a bootleg tape recording of this show that I listened to about a million times during the 80s. I saw him several times in the early 80s and I say it was a great time to see an Iggy concert.
Never ever take this clip down! It's simply amazing. When you have stopped being totally fascinated by Iggy's stage persona, you can look at all the others, they're really good all of them. I wish I could reverse time and be there... But I'm going to see Iggy in concert again this summer, he still performs the shit out of everybody else!
its on a tv show from the eighties called The Tube! it was recorded in my hometown of Newcastle, there has never been or likely to be another show like it! This Iggy set is absolutly awesome! IM IGGY POP MOTHER!!!!!!!
I met Michael Page the bassplayer after this show and he had blood all over his hands from playing his guts out and beating the shit out of that freakin bass!!! That was THE most amazing thing I had ever seen a bass player do and totally mindblowing and surreal!!!
How can anyone say this is a bad performance?
Compared to what I ask? Maybe you prefer Abba? Vanilla Ice? Yanni? No thanks. This is the real thing man, love it or leave it.
Iggy in top form! Remember seeing this in 83.

Everyone on this stage is great. A crazed movie-villain Ig leading a band of improvisational nuts into a punk-flavored noise-rock oddness.

do you think the lead singer from the antony keddes from the chili peppers will look like iggy in the future?

@xeroxlover Exactly like him. Iggy is Anthony's uncle.
iggypoprhcp 1 year ago
@xeroxlover, you say "in the future" while Kiedis is 47 years old, that's 11 years older compared to Iggy in this vid. ;)

lucky you to come from a place that has tv shows like this. iggy's phenomenal. yes, his voice is shaky, but that's part of the pathos/power of punk.
