for the humantarian prize catagory as described in the video- perhaps salman kahn might already be most deserving though hes not in a competition and money isnt the reason for his work - infact the kahn academy =propelling many students to excellent results - remains free - i wonder if these guys would give him the money despite his ignorance of thier competition - that would be nice - have a feeling they wouldnt

i dont think money was the key here -studies show that outside of mundane task monetary rewards have no benifit and are infact determental to creative solutions - its kinda like taking credit for the achivement which in fact it probably retarded - however im sure the winners are happy - and maynot of otherwise been directed at the problem -other than that the money didnt help. see dan pink on the suprising science of motivation - he details a few studies

This is an amazingly awesome concept. I´m not rich yet, but I invested the two seconds necessary to press the like-button make it a favorite. If a lot of us do that more people will find it, and maybe some of them will use what they learn to change the world. Much to win, little to loose :)

great stuff, although I am slightly concerned that all past and current projects benefit only the rich and contribute only to the cutting-edge of already wealthy and developed nations.
