This was extremely depressing documentary, I got especially freaked out when the reporter got in to the mess. Luckily nothing happened to the group and they're all back safe. The atmosphere, suspiciousness, stealing the property of the filmmaker, hypocrisy etc reminds me of something that Eric Blair, a.k.a Orwell wrote. That's right, he wrote a satire of a stalinist regime where Inner Circle of party and armament keeps the people on the brink of starvation so they can't rebel against the regime!

Excellent documentary, but it's tragic to hear references to communism, which is a theory of proletarian emancipation; the end of nationhood and the state; the end of government rule and poverty. DPRK is so far-removed from what real communists fight for.

I have been to the DPRK three times and traveled extensively in the former Soviet Bloc. Understand that there is an entire underworld in the worst regimes. People must survive. As one person taught me, "The USSR was the most capitalist society on earth." I have seen the underground DPRK economy.

I have been to the DPRK three times and traveled extensively in the former Soviet Bloc. Understand that there is an entire underworld in the worst regimes. People must survive. Ha! The documentary is dutch and so is the "disgruntled member" who pretends to be a supporter initially. Obviously they infiltrated the group with provocateurs, which is common practice. Why are they working for the west? Do they get paid? Alejandro did absolutely right !

This is an example of doctrination & Alejandro just hates the USA & uses North Korea as an excuse. "When in Rome do as romans" and these foreigners had to behave that way but at the end they went home with the feeling that this is not a way to help north koreans, not the government, but the people, that don't have nuclear weapons & don't have enough food to eat. The reporter acted very naive, he should have known that if he asks uncomfortable questions he'll be a suspect of spying, he was lucky.

@RussianSoviet5445 Same here. See, Kristian went there as a deluded fucknut with stupid ideas, he saw the truth of how that place is run (even when the NKs are on best behaviour!), realised he was a deluded fucknut and changed his mind. Props to him, at least, for being man enough to do that.

I feel that the ending of this film was somehow staged. I also feel that much more was probably said to upset the North Korean government than was said on the documentary. Alejandro is not a douche as some are stating. He is very passionate about the Juche idea, which is a very good idea to be implemented. I bet most of the douche bags commenting on this video have not read a single book by Kim Jong il to know what his real positions on certain things are.
