  • @jebus0000000 not in the slightest lol.a few run down shitty pubs and clubs overrun with chavs and gypsys.

  • Poeple may say peterborough is boring, but it has some of the most amazing poeple... like me XD

  • @Empressoftickle Andy Bell said the same about Peterborough haha but it seems a nice and very clean city :)

  • why not show gladtsone street?...............racist

  • @KidDynamite40 its a shithole

  • The cathedral is its only redeeming feature!

  • @Indigohue even that is ugly!!!

  • @hoplite46

How can you say that? I think it’s magnificent and awe inspiring. It's one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Europe. Modern architecture is appalling. Just ugly, oblong buildings with as much charm as a concrete bunker.

  • @Indigohue To each their own. To me it dominates the area too much. Agreed most building these days are ugly and the surrounding buildings have no redeeming features, such as the Queensgate Mall but then some like the Gherkin in London are beautiful and functional. Being a bit of a greenie I prefer building that reflect their surroundings and are efficient. Too much to expect from an 1100 year old building.

  • @hoplite46

As you say, each to their own, & whilst the Gherkin is an unusual, innovative building, I can never see it without it putting me in mind of a giant penis thrusting upwards into the sky. But then perhaps that's just my warped mind!

Obviously when the Cathedral was first built, it stood in open fields on it's own, with nothing to detract from it's magnificence.

Cathedrals never fail to fill me with awe, but then they were built to reflect the glory of God and they do that admirably.

  • @hoplite46 Cathedrals to my mind were built to stamp the authority of the church( who no doubt funded the projects anyway or paid for by taxing the people) on the people much as castles built by kings were and to me are nothing more than symbolisms of power. Granted they took a huge amount of gifted craftsmen to make and to that are testament to the skils of man which we tend to lose through time due to technological advances. I,m glad you like it anyway

  • i can't see lincoln road on there

  • Theres more than the Cathedral cos I live here

  • @hoplite46 ... so you're saying that the entire existence of the rest of Peterborough is generated by your consciousness? Man! I'd hate to get on your wrong side, I live there.

But then you already know that.

  • talk about a load of croc. I come from that area and it is not like that normally, it is dirty and noisy and I can think of far better places to go to

  • funny how they dont put lincoln road on here lool

  • come to peterborough where the streets are paved in spit

  • Peterborough es lindo pero un poco aburrido
