Liam singing the "weeeeeell" ... incredible. That young guy from 1995 had some serious pipes. Bottom line is, you CAN'T sing like that every other night for 10 years and maintain that voice. I would rather have 7 or 8 years of vocal brilliance than mediocre longevity. Besides, Oasis is still very relevant. They're making great music and they still put on a great live show. And on some nights, Liam finds some magic in those worn vocal chords. Just have to hope you're there when it happens.

Alan Whites drumming isnt any better than Zaks but louder. So is Noels lead guitar. The 95-clip is of better sound quality anyway. Just the mix. Not the band.
But even Noel says that Liam's voice has got worse, and that he can't sing certain songs either at all (Rocking Chair etc) or as well as he used to. It's not about Liam's ability - it's not his fault. He's not classically trained to sing from his stomach, and instead sings from his throat, belting out these great songs with real passion, for 15 yrs, plus all the fags and booze, of course his live voice will be damaged.

I isn't the smoking. Well, it is... Sort of. It's the way Liam stands in front of the mic. When you do a lot of singing, you're already putting stress on your vocal chords. With Liam's head tilted up like that 'cause he wants to look cool, he's put additional pressure on his larynx. You can see in the Roskilde video he can barely reach the note in the chorus. Take note: Noel's a heavy smoker too, and he sounds pretty much the same.

I much prefer Liam's voice now. The first half of the DBTT tour was fantastic. He got ill towards the end and his voice began to give out and it sounded shit by March 2006.
liams voice in 95 seemed to have the husk an a clear sweet freshness. basically the clear sweet freshness has been turned way down .almost MUTE lol an th HUSK has been turned way up almost COMPLETE .. basically he sounds good either way . he always seems to get a good vocal on record even though he sometimes using nasal singing to try an sound higher an fresh like in the old days

apparently his voice has made a HUGE recovery this year and he can sing better than in '99 and 2000, which i thought he sang well back then, even with a scratchy voice.
i wish him the best; its good that he's recovering.

everyone says his voice improved in a recent live performance, and in a recent interview liam says he is laying of drinking and the cigs and has taken up jogging. hopefully they come back amazing, i can't wait

its probly because of the ciggys so he doesnt have as good breathing as he used to an throw into that his singing style which sounds great but over the years its probly killed his voice - still hes a legend an he can still do it , in small amounts.who cares anyway theyve done it all

aint got much to do wit the fags n booze. noels fine if not better than he was and he loves fags n booze. its the way liam sings, stretchin his throat to the mic which is always high up. strains and damages the vocal chords. although its how he gets his sneer -apparently (?) dunno if thats right

He always give all his best singing i can't blame noone of the icons of Rock remained with the same voice for longer than 5 to 10 years on gigs. He is the best Axl, Kurt are one of the legends that never gave a shit about how their voices would be in ten years time always given the best at moment "carpen die"... i would say...

Alan Whites drumming isnt any better than Zaks but louder. So is Noels lead guitar. The 95-clip is of better sound quality anyway. Just the mix. Not the band.

But even Noel says that Liam's voice has got worse, and that he can't sing certain songs either at all (Rocking Chair etc) or as well as he used to. It's not about Liam's ability - it's not his fault. He's not classically trained to sing from his stomach, and instead sings from his throat, belting out these great songs with real passion, for 15 yrs, plus all the fags and booze, of course his live voice will be damaged.

yeah its true man...i think he still has an amazing voice but he needs to realize that if he continues smoking and drinking he will definately lose his voice, so yeah he is not prepared and we all know that is not the same as being 21 yrs old again, but his attitude has affected his voice

True. But I think he sounds worse now - it's more of a sneer and every word is over emphasised, he doesn't have the range anymore and actually some songs, like Live Forever, he changes the melody to make it easy to sing.
Oasis are past their peak, I like their early stuff though

Liam had problems with Morning glory since the first time, not only now with his damaged throat.
By the way in my opinion the very best Morning glory live performance was Knebworth 1996, they did it two times, I don't remember if the best one was the first or the second night :)

They are having I think so much gigs his voice probably is getting more and more tired or something like that. Plus he is a lad so he is shouting and stuff for fun, which is not good for a singer... Anyways he's a legend!

Liam's voice changed a lot in the past few years, whatever the reasons were, we still love his rock n roll attitude, and that's what Oasis is all about, and Liam's the greates front man of all times. I'm from Brazil, and I went to his concert in Sao Paulo 2006, and when you're there you don't give a fuck about his voice, it's just his presence... As long as Liam's still alive and singing, he might he might change his voice over again, and I will always be mad fer it!!

i just want to add:
think its normal, that in the age the voice becomes a little bit deeper (especially hard smokers), i accept his change... - i also prefer his young aggressiv sharp sandpaper-voice,BUT not really sad. in my youth the old, now the new sound. his voice today still give me kicks! its different but its pure RnR from liam g. and we all should be satisfied, that these guys still are alive and entertaining us!... i mean many great musicians died young.

I isn't the smoking. Well, it is... Sort of. It's the way Liam stands in front of the mic. When you do a lot of singing, you're already putting stress on your vocal chords. With Liam's head tilted up like that 'cause he wants to look cool, he's put additional pressure on his larynx. You can see in the Roskilde video he can barely reach the note in the chorus. Take note: Noel's a heavy smoker too, and he sounds pretty much the same.

And you are absolutely right. i also think that his way of singing was bad for his voice. ironic. because of his great sounds today he sounds great. but i dont regret that he did it his way. he just tried to give his best . and he did it.!!

I much prefer Liam's voice now. The first half of the DBTT tour was fantastic. He got ill towards the end and his voice began to give out and it sounded shit by March 2006.

liams voice in 95 seemed to have the husk an a clear sweet freshness. basically the clear sweet freshness has been turned way down .almost MUTE lol an th HUSK has been turned way up almost COMPLETE .. basically he sounds good either way . he always seems to get a good vocal on record even though he sometimes using nasal singing to try an sound higher an fresh like in the old days
