Have they ever acknowledged The Shangri-Las "He Cried"? Because this is pretty much the same song. Big Horrors fan. But you gotta give credit where credit is due.
@Spamalotibus I'm afraid you've missed my point. The emotions that this song (just like a funeral) conveys are not ones that make me (nor this audience, evidently) want to dance. It's all about understanding what you're listening to.
@alonsoboulevard an oscillator just generates a repeating electronic signal. the bit you can see on the screen is called an oscilloscope, which is a visual representation of the signal.
They're playing the same night in Sydney as Kasabian. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my Kasabian tickets to see the Horrors. Damn scheduling
@KingAndrew00 everyone went wild when i saw them lol. You should try actually feeling music, its not just some sounds. if you get excited and jump around, its good it means you're human.
@Spamalotibus Just because people aren't dancing doesn't mean the music hasn't evoked a strong emotional response. So I'm at a funeral, I'm crying, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna start dancing once the song comes up, does it?
right, i know this is a longshot, but sometimes when playing this song live, tom uses something that makes a "whoosh" sound, he used it at the mercury awards and it is used extensively on 'a sea.....', i know its probably outdated anaologue stuff that's hard to get hold of, but does anyone have a product name or something similar with the same effect?
he's possibly using a moogerfooger delay pedal and making it self oscillate, which is easy to do on most analog delay pedals. Look up maxon AD 999 demos on Youtube if you want to hear some of the strange sci-fi sounds their delay pedals can make.
the glasshouse is awesome though. small, tight, intimate and it always has the best crowds. hope to see you there, because this show is going to be epic.

Ah, but they are shoegaze now. This is how people always reacted at concerts with bands like these. If anything, people with energy at a horrors concert now would be considdered a prick.
Well it isn't a sin to love the horrors. I've not been able to get tickets, but they're supporting Placebo in december which I managed to bag a couple of tickets for.
I think this is my favourite off of their new album. I can't believe how different their new material is, but I like it. I love their old stuff too, but Primary colours just has something special about it.
Omg ... I adore the horrors, but what is with the crowd? I wanted to go last night, but it was an 18 and over. Had I been there though ... I sure wouldn't just be standing there.
Yeah i was thinking that too but their music isnt as jumpy abouty anymore so it'd be better to appreciate it standing still. And you'd stick out like a sore thumb jumping around like a loonatic in that crowd lol.
You can jump to any kind of music if it's good enough! When you see the horrors live it's so fucking good that you just... have to move in some sort of way x'D. I will always rather be a lunatic than some boring person that can't enjoy really good live music and just stands there...

@KingAndrew00 sure but that's not an appropriate response at a funeral. at a gig like this it is, and shouldn't be considered immature

They're not going crazy because of the mood of the album. It makes no sense for them to go wild to shoegaze music!
If you need them to be going wild to enjoy them, you clearly have a very shallow appreciation of music.

Look for their videos live in Mexico, We went crazy XD

It's because they don't know the songs. The Horrors started touring before their new album was released.
That's why.

i reckon the more they move/cheer the more the band move themselves. check out the mexico shows and ull see what i mean

primary colours is more of a stand and watch album, strange house was the one to move to
mansell863 2 years ago 2
the strange house tour was a lot more hyperactive sheerly because of the nature of the music, however 'primary colours' is a calmer record.
