@nelsonthekinger Its different kinds of volume-measurement. RMS means root mean square, and in in audio-terms basicly means "overall volume", so the compressor isn't looking for peaks but waiting for the overall volume to pass over the threshold. Peak is just whenever the signal is loud enough to pass the threshold it triggers the compressor.
@ChrisRimbyLive Hi Chris, in short no. The reason being is that the 1-2-1 training is what sets us apart from other online schools and tutorial sites. The feedback we have got from students suggests it is this feedback on their own projects from a pro producer that really boosts their confidence and takes their skills to a level that otherwise wouldn't have been attainable over the period of the course. Therefore we consider this a crucial aspect of the courses.
@pointblankonline Thanks for the reply. I've already taken a course from another online educational service, so I've had sufficient one-on-one training. I was hoping I could just watch your videos to get someone else's take on mixing. No big deal though. Thanks again.
@pogodoodporny Hi there, On the full course (Mixing Dance Music in Ableton) we go into far more depth on the subject of compression including explanations of those different modes. You can also ask thes types of specific questions to your tutor in the private forums and on your weekly assignment submissions. Follow the link in the description for more info on the course and how to enrol.
hey danny, it's chez here. i did a course with u a while ago. i just want to say thank you so much for this awesome tutorial. because of u, my synth stabs now sound more punchy and alive. thanks again! :)
Learning a lot from your videos. Straight to the point, using native plug-ins, quality sound. I would kill for a Point Blank school in Portugal.
Keep it up mates! Cheers :)

@SuperbitOfficial If you have Ableton Suite just look through the components section in the side menus you'll find a ton of interesting stuff.
