This is really a great film. I find myself squirming like a little kid again during some emotionaly charged scenes. Hitchcock was a master of his craft. Hedren is superb and Connery is great too. However when I first saw it in 1964 at age 19 it kind of went over my head. Not now though.
I never heard anything like that about A.H. I'd say besides mysteries and making movies, his next joy in life was high tea. I really like this movie too. Thanks for the upload Joan. Have any J.C. movies? I like the 40's & 50's ones the best of hers, I think.
@stickitupyourasteric I'm sorry if the truth offends you, but there is vast evidence to the fact that he made an effort to hinder her career. She might have been a model before she worked with him, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she wouldn't have gotten into acting if it weren't for him. You don't know that.
Louise Latham - Mrs. Edgar - was only 42 when appeared in this film. You can see how young her hands look when she pours the King syrup.

@pillallen,
The guy was an egotistical dick. What do you expect? I love his films, but he was a power hungry bastard.

@pillallen So true. He had no right. I think he was mad that although he could cast beautiful blondes they wouldn't sleep with him
He wanted to be the Matthew Vaughn to Tippi's January Jones, but Tippi wasn't having it, and understandably so!
