    Than check my channel.

    Incl. FREE DOWNLOADS!!

  • are hose ships frigates from halo

  • @bball045 : - no - the ships were designed & created specifially for each ( M.A.R.S. & Star Wars: Threads of Destiny)

    - any resemblance to some sort of halo craft is concidential & unrelated, however I'm not deep enough into halo to answer to that specifically...

  • oh mi god!! a ma zing!!

  • Great Showreel. Very dynamic fluent motions with great realism!

Simply great VFX. Keep it up!

    Cheers Silverwing

  • This is some amazing stuff :)

  • Echt beeindruckende Arbeit!

    5*

  • very very good!!!

    nice rendering and composition!!!

  • impressive!

  • @zhng26 : That was done using a combination of several particle Flow events in 3ds Max & some intricate comp work in After Effects...

  • Hey, at first, great video, im really impressed :O!

I know you've answered the "music-question" a few times till now, but thats not the song i'm searching ... the song i am about to search is the very first one till sec: ~ 16. Thanks for helping me!

    Best regards, Schmid.

  • @Schmid369:

hehe ok :) - the music of the first 16 seconds is based on an excerpt from the "Quantum of Solace" soundtrack (first track in the album), however there's some additional percussion & soundfx added... ;)

  • @eclipsefx

    Thank you very much :)!

  • what is the name of the song

  • @matheuskrg1:

(actually I've answered the same question multiple times so far.... :) )

    The music's called "Electric Romeo", by Immediate Music;

however I had done some personal remixing for the showreel...

  • There aren't words for how retarded the person who thumbs downed this is. This is undoubtedly the best reel I've ever seen (outside of the big production companies).

  • You've got a heck of a Reel there. I wonder how your employment process going with this? Skyrocketing your value, perhaps?

  • Nice done!

You know the scene with the car on mars with explosions? were the explosion made in After Effects or 3Ds Max?

  • @4N3RO the explosions are a combination of Afterburn, FumeFX, & explosion footage comped in After Effects (however those parts were done by a seperate effects TD & compositor)

  • sta cippa de minchia!!!

    AWESOME!!!

  • Outstanding! :)

  • amazing

  • beautiful work!

  • what software??

  • (another F.A.Q. ^^)

    3ds Max & After Effects

  • AMAZING!

  • Sorry about the confusion with the plural. Cool. You did a great job. I used one time ParticleIllusion.but was free demo. The software is too expense because I had to buy Maya 2010 for my classes. Afterburn? I am going to check out that one. Thanks for the information.

  • Wow what kind of software are you guys using? After effects cs4? Amazing work.

  • "You guys"? Unless I've been missing sth, I'm a single person ^^ (however as you might've read in the PDF several shots were created in a collaborative process with others...;) )

All the content was created using 3ds max & After Effects CS3.

(some of the explosion content was created using Afterburn & ParticleIllusion.)

  • Awesome stuff bro!

  • amazing keep it up

  • What music did you use in this?

  • (F.A.Q. ^^)

    Electric Romeo / Immediate Music

    (personally slightly remixed) :)

  • I have been looking for a 3d artist for our project. Are you rates fixed or hourly? when is the best time to call you?

  • problem is only that I'm currently a student at the Filmakademie here in Germany, which means that I already have a full-time occupation, speaking metaphorically...

  • Okay, you say you teach me to do that right? xD

  • Great! =D

the clip at 0:44 did you mask out the trees in AE or what did u do?

  • @oxzanofilms

yes, the roto work for the trees was done in After Effects; a combination of colour channels & mask work... ;)

  • Looks are so real!

  • beautiful!!! 5/5

  • gr8

  • nice work

  • Wow! That is gorgeous work! What modeling/ animating software did you use (max, maya, etc)?

  • I'm a 3ds max user... :)

& compositing was done in After Effects...

  • Truly amazing work.

  • ooohhh i love the music...sounds very epic^^ what is the song called?

Video: perfect! i really like your projects!

  • (F.A.Q. ^^)

    Electric Romeo / Immediate Music

    (personally slightly remixed) :)

  • nice work mate, top job

  • u got skills

  • were can i jet this sound track please

  • @mastermukoyi

    - well I partially mixed it out of sound elements & production music which I got from a colleague who's into the production music business...

    - the music itself's called "Electric Romeo" by Immediate Music, but I don't know the album it belongs to...

  • Sweet!

  • unbelieveable

  • How long has it taken you to get to this quality?

    Like, uni or what?

As I REALLY want to get into this when I leave school (:

  • well, the showreel was made to apply for studies in February 09 & contains work of the previous 9 months...

apart from that you can add up 6+ years of private hobby work etc...

& as told I recently started studying at the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg... :)

  • Thats a long time... But it looks really good!

Watching things like this really make me want to do it more.

    Thank you (:

  • Absolutely fantastic! I am very seriously impressed. These look professional studio quality!

  • Love the ships at 0:51.

  • einfach nur geil!

  • Amazing talent. WOW

  • That's the best showreel ever!!!!!

  • Well that was fucking awesome.

  • wow unglaublich. sehr sehr gute arbeit 5 sterne

  • Awesome...

  • whats the name of the music?

  • the basis was "Electric Romeo" by Immediate Music,

but I slightly re-edited it & added some more musical elements on my own (f.ex. the first half minute is bashed together from various music fx sources... ;) )

  • Globus - Epicon- europa

  • Awesome.

  • brilliante Arbeit!

  • потрясающе...

das ist einfach kolossal, was ich gesehen hab...

  • ...I can't find the word to express how I feel about this showreel. It's a positive thing too. I'll just say I'll give you 6 stars.

  • Hey... hello again.. i have a dubt and i really wish to know the true!!

I saw a making of about a robot and the last part of the video the robot becomes in a freezer or something similar but this guy look like a transformer... i want to know if you can say some help about how to do the transformer system.

    thankssssss

    a say hello from Argentina

  • well, if you mean the "vestel TV & Dishwasher making-of" I posted earlier, even though I wasn't in charge of doing the transformation(s), I can at least say this:

    There is no system...

While working on those commercials, we had one guy solely animating the transfomations by hand, modelling all the parts required & cleverly animating them in order to give the impression of a transformation...

    btw, this counts for ILM's work on the 2 Transformers movies as well;

    it's just pure artistry...

  • I have one thing to say:

HOLY SHIT THAT IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

Do you do all this work yourself? Or is there more than one of you? You are AMAZING!

  • well, as you might have read (or haven't) in the shot breakdown pdf (link is in the video description), some of the shots were done in a collaboration of several team members at the vfx company where I'm currently an intern;

so one half's only (or mainly) my own work, whereas in other cases I did my part in the team to complete the shot... ;)

(but just as a fun fact - all the stuff in the showreel was done within a time range of 9 months... :) )

  • You are incredible mate. I applaud you. That is some amazing work.

  • I am fucking impressed man, you are very good in digital desing. I have a question. What is the render motor that do you use?

To get your level, must I learn 3D, matte painting, animation and compositing, is it right?

Thanks! check my videos, I have some simple

  • Well - it depends...

The only 3D package I used was 3ds max, but from shot to shot the rendering system changed... In most cases V-Ray was used, some have mental ray implemented, and some other just used the basic scanline renderer, which were then composited to achieve the look I wanted...

Well, my primary focus lies on compositing, but I also have some knowledge in 3D, animation, and most lately FX animation as well - mattepaintings are rather an uncharted territory for me... :)

  • hehe

    - think you should better write me such stuff directly in that case, instead of utilizing the comment space ... :)

  • guess youtube is a good place to start... :P

  • well the simplest thing is to utilize google & look up for tutorials for the specific types of software techniques -- that's how I gained my experience, besides trying out stuff on my own :)

you might also try sites like 3dtotal, videocopilot or creative cow -

but I won't be able to show or guide you to tutorials on how I did my stuff, as it's all original work based on my own experience -

which is the key factor in this business, instead of the capability to replicate tutorial content... :)

  • Where do you recommend a place where I could find tutorials on how to create the effects you did in the first 17 seconds. I can create an eclipse... but the earth and "disentigration" or whatever it was is over my head a little.

  • The answer might not satisfy you, but it's simple: Unfortunately, no...

Starting from a collection of textures & reference material, I created the title sequence over the course of several weeks, continiously studying the reference & creating materials & renderings along the way whenever I felt it was required to have more... In the end I had a composite with 50+ layers just to make the earth look right...

All the knowledge was based on my own experience + what I gathered in the making...

  • Thanks, I just love the look it has. Great work. Plus, with my setup as is, there is no way it could handle 50+ layers.

  • at 0:35 where is that from?

  • well, according to my breakdown pdf (see video description), it's from "MARS"... :)

It's a fictional trailer which is done sort of as a weekend project at the company I'm currently at - but atm it's only 2/3 done despite being around for a few years, so there's not really a chance you'll been it all too soon... :P

  • omg

    5stars

  • Very cool! I like it.

  • What is the name of the song?

  • Electric Romeo by Immediate Music (+ some personal mixing implemented...) ;)

  • Thanks for the quick answer

  • AWESOME WORK!!!! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

  • Well, according to my profile I'm 20 years old atm :P

    & when I presume there's no personal mistaking occuring, it's true... :D

    Answer = 20 years :)

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY SHIT man, this is FUCKING AWESOME!

  • THIS IS AWESOME, MAN! :D

  • Wow! Sehr geil! Von dir könnt ich sicherlich noch sehr viel lernen :D

    Respekt!!!

  • great job this is one of you're best. and once again thanks for your help

     ~Miranda

  • Very Nice! How much years are you experience?

  • Well, if you go through the movies in my profile or scroll through the showreel-playlist, you'll get a nice overview over the past years:

2002-2004 I did those LEGO animations (also known as C.O.W.s :P)

2005 was when I started to try out my own vfx stuff; 2006-2008 I gained more & more experience through my personal work...

"2009" itself showcases my experiences up to 02/09, and all the stuff you see in the showreel was done within the last 9 months, since the beginning of my VFX internship...

  • Wow! Top stuff! I am VERY impressed!! :-)

    Well done!

  • wow; awesome fx!! cool animations; how long did it take to render the star wars scene beginning at 0:18

  • when I remember it right, it took about 1 week; day & night, to render the 3D passes out of 3ds max; on top of that half of the shot was built together inside After Effects 3D space, which then took approx. 1 hour to render the final composite...

(f.ex. the cloudscape is a system set up in Trapcode Particular & then matched to the 3ds Max camera move...) :)

  • I have a question - the movement of that two small ships at 0:19, isn't inspired by the Revenge of the Sith opening battle when Anakin and Obi-wan are flying around the republican battleship? I dont mean it as a critique, it's awesome, really. Just asking =)

  • yes, that surely served as some inspiration, along with a few other movies... :)

  • great reel , nice work ,excellent 3d renders

  • So cool. And I love the Electric Romeo music. Awesome work, man!
