That bullhead spot reminds me of the old flood wall system in Louisville. We used to catch a bunch there as kids.

One type of really good bait for any fish even bullhead is fish eye, especially from bluegills but only during the day during the night crawfish works great too

on the columbia river i had trouble with swallowed hooks. our bullheads average 10 to 12 inches, and i use size 2 hook without barbs on them with a big fat nightcrawler threaded on. set the hook when they start to swim on you and you will hook fish that size in the mouth consistantly.

after they nibble i watch my rod tip and they will barely have it bent but you cant feel them on there, set the hook they will be there. wait too long they swallow the hook

anything. worms, stick bait, even artificial lures and pieces of corn. ive never tried it but i also heard that Kix cerial works well too

Chicken livers works the nuts for me. They are cheap to, a 1lb container at the store is $1.44. Thats pretty cheap.

those are the most annoying fish there is, they will take and waste a big chunk of cut bait for a big blue or channel. i heard they can bury themselfs in mud and live all winter in a pond that freezes to the bottom.

Good river bait there. When I was a kid we had a little pond full of "yella bellies". My grandpa would come over and sein it for bait, the pond was small enough that 2 guys could sein it without even getting there feet wet. One year we had a drought and the pond dried up, when it finally rained the catfish were still in there! Guess they buried themselves in the mud until the water returned.
