@alexx120289 Yes and No, If you want to Hot Swap between firmwares(FW) you will need a second HDD. What I mean by that is you can swap between FW just by changing HDD and rebooting. If you want to use 1 HDD you will need to do the complete downgrade process everytime you want to use 3.55 and do usb or internet update to play online.. so I guess it just comes down to how convenient you want your console to be swapped between FW.. Is there a reset switch on the E3 Flasher TF Cover Board to wipe any info already stored on the e3 flasher?

If so, where?

My understanding is if im using a pre owned e3 flasher I have to erase the bios info already on the e3 flasher before I do my own bios backing up.

@alexx120289 All you should do is upgrade the E3 Flasher to the latest firmware and put your own backup on the Flasher.. There's no need to try erase the E3 FLasher you FLash will gop straight over the top..

Im not getting any blue LED lights flashing when I try to update the flasher with the update.bin file.

From the video tutorials its meant to update quick, my blue lights arent flashing at all.

All correct switches are flicked ( first 2 down, remainder up)

Sata Turned on before PS3.

Micro SD seems as secure as its ever going to be in the SD holder on the Coverboard.

Whats wrong?

Got LED's shining now.

After watching your Update video I saw to start with all switches down and whilst in the XMB then flick last 4 up

My switches before were 1 2 Down, Remainder Up - Got no Blue lights

I then turned PS3 off like you did, now switches adjusted ready for update, then turned back on

Unlike your video where you got Blue LED's showing update process I got no Blue lights again

The .bin file is still on my Micro SD. Micro SD is a SanDisk 8GB

I dont think it updated. My flasher is not doing what yours does in your video when updating e3 flasher.

hy there right now i m confused about the dongle thing. i had on my ps3 a 3.55 cfw without a dongle. Can i just downgrade my ps3 slim from 4.00 without the so called dongle ? in the past i also used my calculator , but right now im confused about this dongle issue.

Can some one explain this please

@TheSnake0444 if you have used your calculator in the past to downgrade and jailbreak you should have no worries in downgrading with the calculator, Ive never used the calculator not sure how it works I have watched videos about it. just make sure you use the downgrade .HEX 'binary file'

The fail video was the first attemp I since have fixed the error and will be filming tonight.. it will be downgrade from 4.00 to E3 version of CFW 3.55, then a QA flag using rebug QA flag .pkg then recoverymode downgrade to 3.15 then upgrade back to the proper version of rebug 3.55 Happy New Year..

I managed to downgrade mine without the dongle keep i mind my console was bricked in Factory Service Mode 3.56 so I guessing that why I didnt need the dongle.. from every other firmware Ive used a dongle.. Ive got a link for one in video description its $15 it worth the buy I paid $50 plus postage for mine...

Hi sorry bout late reply. When you say 3 rapid blinking LEDs what sequence are they blinking eg 1,3,4 out of the 8. That's pretty common. When you perform the backup. Make sure the switches are set right. Instead of pressing start straight up press the reset button first. Pretty much start ur console. Set switches 1,2,4,5,6 down and 3 up press reset then press start. Make sure there's nothing in USB ports or blu- ray drive. If this doesnt work, I know it's a pain but check that the NOR clip h

good tutorial but i have a problem,i successfully install the update.bin the latest one right,because i have a samsung NOR flash installed on my slim 120gb its supposed to support the Samsung NOR flash,after i install update and try to back up my NOR flash i only recieve 3 rapid blue blinking LED lights??ive tried numerous solutions but i got jack all done to help this problem,have you got any ideas???i have e3 flasher limited by the way.

France. Once u have checked all the connections. Upgrade the e3 firmware to the latest one on the website. Start off with backing up your current nor. Let me know how u go with that. Also if you check the

I forgot to add to use tape to secure nor clip and also use a little on the ribbon to hlp protect it from the metal chassis. I used duc tape trimmed It down to fit.

Yes that would be my first guess. Make sure u check all connections. When you put the clip on nor press Down firmly. The clip should be sitting flush with the mobo. Check that the ribbon cable isn't kinked split or damaged during install.

@francescosuarez You can use any downgrade dongle on the market.. Basiclly all its there for is to put the Factory service mode so just find the cheapest one you can find. I use a EcliPS3 Ive got a link in the description there about US$15 you can prob find one cheaper.. The main thing you need in this tutorial is the E3 Flasher..

@CrazyGoonModz Nah, you will still need to buy a downgrade dongle approx $15 and you will also need a Micro SD flash card $15 aswel.. I had both of these on hand so I got lucky.. Not to sure if there are any limited E3 Flashers left in stock tho if there isnt you might need a eSATA Station too. but in the end you'll have a simple to use no soldering mod chip you'll be able to duel boot when ever you like..

@CrazyGoonModz the E3 Flasher enables you to duel boot, that means you can downgrade to 3.55 spoofed as 3.70 to play your backed up brought offline games, then when you want to go online you load your 3.73 firmware and play on PSN.. Ill be making tutorials on how to duel boot soon..

@esquiche Mine worked without the dongle, using the dongle is advised by E3 Flasher team. and I advisdse you to do use the dongle. its not worth the risk of bricking your console. the dongles are cheap enough these days.

So I manage to flash the e3_downgrade bin but after I turn off my console and turn it back on, it doesn't go to the "Connect ps3 controller" screen. Why is that..? Cause I can't move on otherwise. Or at least I haven't been able to.
