RIP Big Man.. When i think Of Clarence Clements I think about the sax break on Badlands. It to me was one of the best moments in Rock N Roll ever!...We are goona miss you Brother, Tell Danny "hello" from all of us...
I think my dad was at this concert in 85... Not me, i was born in 91. I hope I could see the boss one day ! And i love this song, and it's my favourite album, Darkness on the edge of town yeahh !
Well... Lights Out tonight ( who's dieing ) trouble in the HEART land, gotta a head-on collision ( beaten ) smashin' in my guts, 'MAN' ( his side pierced )
I'm caught in a CROSS-fire, and I don't understand ?? But... there's 1 thing I know for SURE...* I Believe in the LOVE, FAITH, HOPE, and I Pray that someday it may...?
saw this at wembley 85 for the first and lucky not last time live, one of the most powerful songs in his armoury of .. powerful songs .... this song remains constant on all his tours as its a timeless classic involving the whole band and a massive crowd pleaser ...... great version as well thanks to mr chappel for upload....
I was born in '92. My Friends don't like Bruce (they think its Old Men Music (i don't know the right word for it, its this combination in Holland;)) But I'll do a murder to see Bruce live!!!
I'm glad my parents like this music, so i'd grow up with it!!!!!
My friends don't like Bruce either,we are in our early forties, when it comes to music, all that matters is what you like, only fools listen to music to fit in with other people.
@AspenBrookProduction ......my daughter was born in '93. Being from NJ, and a life long Bruce nut, found it my responsibility to get my son, and daughter into Bruce.....here's a quote from "No Surrender"........"We learned more from a 3 minute record than we ever learned in school"...........keep watchin the youtube vids......lol
@AspenBrookProduction I love it! The younger generation digging Bruce Springsteen! He was THE BOSS, for sure. Saw him live, front row at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX.. 1985 or 86.. (I was 2 - haha) a little bit older, but it was AMAZING.. I cried in awe of it all, and the enormity of the performance..Nothing has matched it since, and I've seen ALOT of big headliners in concert. Rock on!
Wtf i was born in 93 awell and i'm also a big Bruce Springsteen fan. I live in the Netherlands and have been to 8 concerts and at the Pinkpop festival i stood in the first line and he gave me a hand when he saw me singing the Promised Land chorus. My best moment in my live, so fucking cool!
This man is just the very best there is, the energy he gives at a concert is legendary. Not many people give +3 hours concerts for over 30 years, so no suprise they call him "The Boss".
Nice to know there are younger fans too. Bruce`s music reaches people no matter how young they are. I was born in 93 and have seen him twice, I'm so gratefull he and the band just keep on going. Thank you.
I was born in 1947... saw every date of Born inthe usa tour, and some way before his "commerical" success. it was the most amazing experience. I will remember this forever. He kind of surpasses ages and "classes" . He will always be the BOSS!
Gosh... Now I'm crying. Damn it! Everything here is just perfect! It's so depressing that we live in a society when one of the few things that can make you feel happiness like this is by listening to a song... But hey, if any song can do that to you, this can, right? Bruce, we loooooove you! ^_^
Amen, Regardless of your views on this song I pretty sure we all agree that It's one of The Boss best songs and the lyrics just show how great of a song writer he really is
Speaking of which: I've noticed a sudden surge in hate-posts by right-wingers that are pissed that the BOSS played at an Obama rally. They suddenly hate his music because he sang for him.
I think they should have expected that--a working class advocate IS GOING TO support the party that supports organized labor and the unions.
Did you read my post? I don't need politics Left Wing or Right Wing from entertainers, musicians, actors, etc. Why do people like you need your musical hero (apparently) to reinforce your political viewpoints?. I voted for Reagan (the second time) what does that have to do with anything?
What's funny is I championed Springsteen on the radio as early as 1975, long before any of you were likely fans. See the problem is Bruce should have learned from Dylan. If you notice, Bob doesn't do protests or make stupid comments. Musically I am still a Springsteen fan...I'm just saying..
No, I don't want to hear shit from musicians or actors (right or left) . So if Bruce is only telling the truth, who's truth? His as he sees it through his incredibly liberal bias? Give me a break
I consider myself a progressive.. yet when I hear an actor of musician speak as though they are the foremost figure in political discourse and know whats best for America, while they live 5 months out of the year in Europe and do not do act on any words they profess.
These "artists" do not know the perspective of REAL America.
Used to be a huge Springsteen fan 75-80. He started getting political, now I can't stand the sight of this clown. He is no Dylan either, all his left politics and inability to clearly speak more than a sentence or two has soured me on the guy.
So its okay for Toby or somebody from the right to speak out. Kind of a double standard but that's par for the course. Bruce is just telling the truth period!!!!!!
Yes bokadude...Bruce is speaking out for the LEFT. As he sees it. With his biased opinions. Just as YOU speak out w/ YOUR biased opinions or ANYONE ELSE speaks out , LEFT or RIGHT w/ THEIR biased opinions. Thats what this country is founded on.... What? Are only LYING POLITICIANS allowed to voice their opinions on world matters? Bruce happens to take advantage of his fame and speak his mind, whether you agree or disagree. The working class stiff never had a bigger voice. We're all Americans dude
This gig is fucking amazin. Wudda loved to have been there. Shame i hadnt bin born.lol. Saw him at Manchester in 2003, 2008 and sheffield 2006. The BOSS!!!! total legend.
One of the best songs in the Boss's set. No one puts on a better show. He is simply the best there is, was and will ever be. Long live the king of rock and roll
Hi Emily, I'd really like to sing along with you, do you really know all the words by heart? Boy! this song is so energetic and powerful that makes me feel so good!!!
Headbands were the rock fashion rage in the late '70s to mid '80s (Mark Kopfler is great, but looks ridiculous wearing one). This is a great performance; also check out their '75 concert at Hammersmith Odeon for some earlier fire & passion.

But theres one thing I know for sure girl:

I dont give a damn for just the in-betweens.

You better listen to me baby:
Talk about a dream; try to make it real.
You wake up in the night with a fear so real.
You spend your life waiting for a moment that just dont come.
Well dont waste your time waiting
Badlands you gotta live it every day
Let the broken hearts stand
emily280607 3 years ago 3
As the price youve gotta pay
Well keep pushin till its understood
And these badlands start treating us good
Workin in the field till you get your back burned
Workin `neath the wheels till you get your facts learned.
Baby I got my facts learned real good right now.
You better get it straight darling:
emily280607 3 years ago 2
Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings,
And a king aint satisfied till he rules everything.
I wanna go out tonight, I wanna find out what I got.
Now I believe in the love that you gave me.
I believe in the faith that could save me.
I believe in the hope and I pray that some day it
Will raise me above these
Badlands...
