Terrible argument. MJ is the GOAT he always elevated the Bulls despite his teammates. Pippen choked huge in the finals nearly every time out. He played subpar for most of their finals appearances, just look at the finals numbers for Pippen. 18.9ppg 8.3reb 5.9ast 40.9%fg 25.9%3pt. Those are well below what his season averages were during the 6 championship years. Lebron choked dont get me wrong, but Pippen never took blame for playing badly to the extent that Lebron has.

I was just commenting to the other guy because he said Pippen never choked, but he clearly did if you look at the stats and if you watched all of the series.

it would have been interesting to see if pip could have brought a better team (better than the team assembled in 94) to the finals. they played the knicks tough that year, and the knicks go on to lose in 7 against houston. i think he could have been the "man", although as a bulls fan, it all worked out.

in my opinion pippen was a better skilled player and athlete over lebron. Unfortunately lebron plays in a era which emphasizes athleticism over skills. Lebrons deficiencies are hidden in todays era. Lebron lacks the basketball skills pippen had. Lebron will go on to put up better offensive numbers compared to pippen but thats due to the defensive handicaping of todays league. Its not because lebrons a better offensive player. pippen also played in the triangle and behind jordan. He wasnt asked

Pippen had superior physical attributes like bigger hands which gave him the advantage with ball control. Pippen also had a a longer wingspan which gives him the edge defensively. Lebrons is more musclear. Both are near equal athletically. Pippen had quicker foot speed though due to weighing less. Pippen was also more agile and limber

i see what you're saying, but i think lebron is a touch better offensively. they both could play the point, but lebron is just a better scorer. can get to the hoop no problem and might be a better shooter when it's all said and done. the triangle did limit pip though, i agree, whereas clev. just clears out for lebron on offense every time.  pip is a better defender though, no doubt. i don't know- it's an interesting argument when you think about it.

@dv122 I don't think this is true at all. Lebron's rebounding, steals and blocks numbers are not the result of this era. Those translate. Now, while I agree that this era is definitely "easier", the gap between Lebron and Pip's numbers is pretty wide. Lebron is a better athlete.

Even in 94 and 95 Pippens numbers didn't explode without MJ there, so that argument is pretty bad. If anything, MJ's presence should have made things easier for Pip.

@dv122 Pippen played in the triangle as the primary ball handler, especially in the 2nd threepeat. Look at his assist numbers compared to MJ. MJ pretty much handed the wheel to Pippen as far as perimeter playmaking is concerned. MJ became the team's low post presence.
