McGann was an absolute gem of a Doctor! I seriously hope they bring him back for the 50th anniversary special- he's said he'd be interested, an if they don't jump on that... it'll be criminal!
@OliveTheBreloom you can find the books on amazon or barnes and noble.com. They can run pretty expensive b/c they are hard to find. I was able to find the first book for about $30 or so online, but I've seen it for sixty or higher too. All I can say is look around and be patient ;)
the eigth doctor novels are the best, alien bodies and the ancestor cell oh my god talk about intense story telling i could not put those books down. The eigth doctor is kind of a mix of the 4th and fith doctors and thats why he is so good. As much as i love doctor who i have to be honest and say the new series has lost the essence of what makes good doctor who and that is great story telling, too much emphasis is placed on CGI and the companions when the show is about the doctor period.
@doctorw2 With series 5 the plots are so much better than with the last 4. And the best part is that fact that we still don't know the ending. I think series 5 is the best for plots.
@Strobertat yes series five had the best plots and was a massive improvement compared to the last four series but, the story telling needs much more work. the entire problem with the new series of doctor who is that they are constantly going to earth past present and future and the daleks are used way too much they were in all four series they should give them a rest. i hope the writers are more creative in series six so we can have some stories of the doctor going to places other than earth.
@Strobertat yhea but the smith can't pull of the serrious stuff. Also 20 years from now I probably won't remember anything from serries 5 except the Daleks asking for tea and that stupid pandorica thing. None of the episodes stick with me like Blink or midnight for example. Also I can't stand the side kick, not sure why but I just don't care what happens to her. I like Rory (or however you spell his name) mind you.
@Strobertat thats exactly what i have been thinking for the past three years although the alien companion could look human but, still be very alien. i personaly was thinking of someone like a metamorph who could change into other lifeforms that kind of companion would really come in handy. i really hated the changes they have done to the daleks they look like tonka toys now i hope to god they change that design. the cybermen could use a new design as well.
@doctorw2 I like the new dalek design. They're cool. the Only dalek I don't like is the eternal Dalek (the bright yellow one with black bumps at the bottom) because he's too bright and doesn't really fit in. But all the others work really well though

You're arguing that his hair is brown not ginger on the basis that he only looks ginger when properly illuminated? I'll admit that he does seem to have brown hair under the crappy hospital lighting.
...Except Paul McGann himself has brown hair, Eighth is portrayed as having brown hair in the IDW comics, and is described as having brown hair in The Eight Doctors.

@AliveStorm93 As for the comics and book, I haven't read them so I can't say with total confidence why the authors might have chosen to depict him as brown-haired when he is clearly ginger in the movie. Maybe they hadn't actually seen it, only a still ffrom the hospital section? I'm curious why you're basing your arguement on secondary sources, rather than the movie itself.
@ECHTESKETCHE3 It was an american made tv film based on British show Doctor Who made back in 1996 as an attempt to bring it back on telly. It mostly sucked, but it did have Paul McGann as the Doctor, who was really good in the role. In 2005 the show returned proper as a series and has been the UK's biggest show ever since.
On new year's day the show's gonna have a BIG episode where the current Doctor dies, and then it's gonna start afresh in the spring, better than ever! Hope that helped!
