What are you guys taking about? Gaga STILL does this kind of stuff all the time! Every "shitty pop song" she has has an amazing acoustic piano version. Look up Paparazzi acoustic, or Bad Romance acoustic, or Telephone/Dance in the Dark combo acoustic, Poker Face, Brown Eyes, You and I, etc. Let me quote Gaga herself, "I think any good song can be played on the piano and still sound like a #1 hit.." She's right. Thats why although her pop songs are catchy, the lyrics are still deep & meaningful.

I really don't think you can compare Katy Perry to Lady Gaga in terms of talent. The only comparison is that they're both women who sing pop - the comparison stops there. Katy Perry, if you've ever heard her live, doesn't have pipes nearly as great as Gaga. Don't get me wrong, I love Katy, but there's a definite talent jump between her and Gaga.

i saw her in concert in new orleans last night! She was fantastic and she performed a song like this called Speechless. Lady GaGa is ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC . NOT TO MENTION ONE OF THE ONLY REAL TALENTED ARTISTS OF THE CENTURY.

If you watch a couple of interviews with her, she says she just wanted to sing pop songs because she enjoyed listening and dancing to them. As simple as that. But on the other hand, the public expects that sound (tuned, EQed, heavily compressed, etc) it's what sells, and what is not like that is not considered "cool". So...it's kinda a necessary evil.

i saw her in concert in new orleans last night! She was fantastic and she performed a song like this called Speechless. Lady GaGa is ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC . NOT TO MENTION ONE OF THE ONLY REAL TALENTED ARTISTS OF THE CENTURY.

she wanted to change the world. sure she could make it slowly as independent but she skyrocketed by signing with a large company. and now she has the power to do what she wanted and the fame to reach out to so many more people

@aj29 actually, she didn´t "use" her pop songs to achieve fame. If you watch a couple of interviews with her, she says she just wanted to sing pop songs because she enjoyed listening and dancing to them. As simple as that. She says it doesn´t take a Tshirt and a guitar to make you a true artist. Art can be found anywhere, including the pop scene. :)

She didn't "sell herself out." She still makes music like this, and she still is classy and gorgeous. Just because she expanded her boundaries and makes other kinds of edgy, upbeat, pop music, doesn't mean she is not classy or doesn't do ballads like this. She is a very complex artist, as all good artist are. Why should she want to stay in one genre of music when she has so much more to offer? If you want to hear more like this, listen to 'Again, Again' or 'Brown Eyes' or 'Speechless.' Amazing<3

I respect this version of her so much more than what she is now. I'm sorry, I can't deal with the whole dance/pop thing now...thats not something I want to think of her as. I mean, she can do what she wants with the odd outfits, because its bold, but to leave behind something as classy and gorgeous as this? I think she really did sell herself out...
